III international Symposium on semi markov models

Cagliari, University 17/6/2009. The first international Symposium was held in 1984 at the Université Libre de Bruxelles to make a state of the art for the area of Semi-Markov theory and its applications and the second international Symposium was held in 1998 at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (France).  The main aim of this Third Symposium is to measure the progresses accomplished during these last 10 years, both in the probabilistic and statistical aspects and in applications. The main applications are in Reliability and Maintenance, Insurance and Finance, Biology and Medicine, Social sciences, Simulation, Data Analysis, Queueing systems,.. Numerical and algorithmic methods will also be considered. The Symposium is jointly organized by the “Facoltà di Economia dell’Università di Cagliari” and the “Dipartimento di Matematica per le Decisioni Economiche, Finanziarie ed Assicurative dell’Università di Roma “La Sapienza”. English will be the official language of the Conference hold by: Raimondo Manca – University of Roma “La Sapienza” (Chairman) Marco Micocci – University of Cagliari (Chairman) Luisanna Fodde – University of Cagliari Guglielmo D’Amico – University of Chieti Giuseppe Di Biase – University of Chieti Giuseppina Cannas e University of Cagliari Giovanna Flore, Giovanni Masala, Simone Sbaraglia e Stefano Zedda.
