piscitelliBerlin until 20/9/2009 Singuhr – Horgalerie  Wasserspeicher Prenzlauer Berg Invited by the singuhr – sound gallery, students of the Royal College of Art, Music and Dance in The Hague are collaborating with TU Berlin students under Edwin van der Heide’s guidance to produce the sound installation “Klangspeicher – global/local” for the Small Water Reservoir. The installation focuses on the sound architectonic dimensions of this unique 19th century heritage site. Its function as a water reservoir, its role as a storage area and its transition to a place of artistic discourse all serve as departure points for the joint project.  Paolo Piscitelli  Unpacking  24th July 2009 – 20th September 2009  The Italian artist Paolo Piscitelli has a feel for combining spatial settings, conceptual approaches and transmedial work forms with concrete places. In his “Unpacking” installation, he has stacked hundreds of empty book boxes to act as unpassable walls within the rings of the water reservoir. Together, they create the surfaces for video projections with animated texts – book titles that Piscitelli and selected persons recall in writing, impelled by the relentless ticking of a clock. In “Unpacking”, the audience is both witness and silent participant to a time-based process. The installation invites the viewer to reflect on his/her own inner “residues”. (piscitelli)
