Global Fundraising Awards 2015 Now Open to All

The Resource Alliance has announced that this year’s Global Awards for Fundraising, held at the International Fundraising Congress (IFC) in the Netherlands, will for the first time be open to all fundraisers worldwide. The decision has been taken to better reflect the global breadth and depth of the global fundraising community and the Resource Alliance is proud to offer the opportunity for diverse voices to be recognised and celebrated on the world stage. The Global Awards for Fundraising (resource-alliance.org/globalawards) has four categories: two for organisations and two for individuals. Big Impact, Small Budget – recognising significant impact for a relatively small financial investment. Innovative Fundraising Campaign – recognising original and creative ideas in a fundraising context.
The Global Fundraiser – recognising fundraisers who have shown excellence and best practice, and have made an outstanding contribution to the sector.Volunteer of the Year – recognising volunteers who have assisted through efforts and dedication of time to an organisation and fundraising cause.The closing date for entries the 14/08/2015. Shortlisted entries will receive a free place at the IFC 2015 which takes place in October and will get the opportunity to showcase their campaign at the Global Awards for Fundraising ceremony.The winners of each category receive a trophy and certificate. Better than ever, the IBC2015 Conference examines ‘The Future of Media in an Age of Disruption’

Riedl is head of Android TV Global Partnerships at Google in California. In Thursday afternoon’s keynote ‘Is TV facing up to the Internet Era?’ Andrew Neil will be posing the big questions to industry leaders most affected by the connected era. How will the TV industry transform itself to ensure it delivers on this internet era of television? Will new entrants with no legacy but an internet background take over? Today, Discovery reaches 3bn subscribers around the globe with an average of 10 channels in each of its 220 countries and while it operates predominantly pay TV channels it has branched out into advertiser-funded channels both through the acquisition of the SBS channels in the Nordic region and FTA launches of some of its pay brands in markets like Italy and Spain. In 2014 it purchased sports channel Eurosport, with a reach across both Europe and Asia and in a deal with John Malone’s Liberty Global, purchased TV production company All3Media. Sling TV’s CEO Roger Lynch will speak in Saturday’s keynote ‘Over the Top Comes of Age’ to discuss how Sling TV (part of DISH) is pioneering the next-generation TV service. Consumers’ appetite for online-delivered video is growing and some iconoclastic
broadcasters, pay TV platforms and content providers like HBO, the UK’s Sky TV and DISH in the US are following (and trying to better) the Netflix model by creating streaming services to satisfy the demand for multiple-device TV.
Sunday will see BT TV Managing Director Delia Bushell discussing how BT sees the future, how the broadcasting model is changing and how communications technology will evolve in the session ‘Telcos Tune Into Broadcasting’. BT Sport and BT TV products are shaking up the competitive landscape for TV and communications services in Europe. Having agreed to pay £7.6m for each of the 12 Premier League games it will air exclusively from 2016, BT is taking its TV business seriously and through integrated broadband, TV and phone packages it’s trail blazing how a 21st Century Telco looks. The £12.5bn agreement to purchase mobile operator EE in February this year adds another platform to BT’s ambition to offer content and services across devices. IBC’s key streams are structured to allow delegates to navigate the conference with ease and maximise time at the show. The key themes discussed each day are seen through the lens of the different streams, each providing a unique angle and focus – be it technical, strategic or operational. Nona edizione del festival Lunarte

22 Agosto a Casanova di Carinola (CE) nona edizione del festival Lunarte. Teatro, circo, mostre e musica nei vicoli e nei cortili del borgo Carani dalle 20.00 fino a notte fonda. Si aprono i portoni e l’arte torna a risplendere sotto la luna d’estate. Il 22 agosto torna Lunarte, festival che da nove anni costituisce a Casanova di Carinola, in provincia di Caserta, un appuntamento attesissimo e sempre più partecipato. L’iniziativa, ideata e realizzata dall’associazione “Circuito socio Culturale Caleno” con la collaborazione di “Etérnit”, il patrocinio del Comune di Carinola e il supporto di diverse realtà locali e nazionali, presenterà al pubblico un programma di teatro, circo, mostre e concerti che si svolgeranno principalmente nei cortili, nei vicoli e nelle piazze del borgo Carani.
Lunarte rappresenta un momento importante sia per la sua proposta artistica e culturale, sia per la rivalutazione del patrimonio storico e architettonico del territorio: per una notte, infatti, i cortili delle case e le antiche corti diventano suggestivi scenari per le performance in programma, e lo stesso Convento di San Francesco, fondato agli inizi del 1200, si trasforma nella casa che ospita gli artisti in trasferta. Tanti i protagonisti di questa nuova edizione, per il teatro: Daniele Parisi, Emiliano Valente, Pino Carbone e Anna Carla Broegg, Teatraltro, Mutamenti/Teatro Civico 14; e ancora spettacoli di circo e di strada con: Le Lapille, Il maestra e le margherite; per la musica: Camera, Ficufresche, Gianluca Secco e in chiusura i Veeblefetzer, che con il loro concerto, seguito dal dj set di Mondo Cane, concluderanno la kermesse. In programma, inoltre, mostre e progetti speciali in collaborazione con diversi partner tra cui: Crack! fumetti dirompenti, Rapsodia rivista letteraria indipendente, Amici della Biblioteca di Carinola. Sicurezza, annunci di reati in calo ma furti, aggressioni, spaccio,rapine sono un piaga che non lascia scampo

“Reati in calo? Immigrazione clandestina che non vorrebbe dire delinquenza? Balle avanti tutta! Basta dare una rapida occhiata alla cronaca di un giorno di ordinaria follia in una delle nostre città per svelare il più grave e triste dei bluff che chi governa i cittadini propina loro, insistendo a non ammettere che la sicurezza ha bisogno di ben altri interventi di quelli che ad oggi vengono riservati al Comparto e che, a ben vedere, sono solo peggiorativi”.
Così Franco Maccari, Segretario Generale del Coisp, Sindacato Indipendente di Polizia, torna sulle problematiche legate alle carenze di numeri e mezzi che assillano le Forze dell’Ordine, oberate di superlavoro non solo per le nuove emergenze che gravano sulle spalle di Comparto, ma anche e soprattutto per via dell’ordinario lavoro diuturno che sul territorio si moltiplica giorno dopo giorno, a dispetto di quel che si vorrebbe far trasparire da dati ufficiali nei quali, però, non si tiene conto del grande senso di insicurezza diffuso che porta i cittadini, il più delle volte, persino a non denunciare i torti subiti.
Un quadro allarmante lo offre, ad esempio, una città come Padova dove, nell’arco di 24 ore, le cronache sono invase di notizie che dimostrano quanto i comuni cittadini, nella loro vita di ogni giorno, soffrano l’imbarbarimento di condizioni di vera e propria invivibilità, con conseguente difficoltà delle Forze dell’Ordine di svolgere un controllo serrato di zone sempre più messe a dura prova. Nella città veneta, nel fine settimana, l’aggressione selvaggia di un giovane che è stato preso a bottigliate ed a pugni da un nigeriano; l’arresto di due spacciatori, di cui uno tunisino, su uno dei quali pendeva già un ordine di custodia per le stesse accuse; un altro tunisino pregiudicato e senza fissa dimora arrestato per furto di uno scooter; una donna aggredita da un lavavetri abusivo in mezzo alla strada; una giovane ladra rumena sorpresa a rovistare nelle stanze di un’abitazione…
“E la lista è ancora lunga, lunghissima – insiste Maccari -. Il centralino del 113 scoppia per le segnalazioni e le richieste di aiuto, gli uomini non ce la fanno neppure a correre di qua e di là dato la quantità di servizi da svolgere e l’esiguità dei numeri a disposizione. Un Ente come l’Associazione Artigiani e Piccole Imprese di Mestre ha avvertito che in dieci anni i furti negli esercizi commerciali sono cresciuti del 150%, lamentando che i responsabili la fanno franca!”.
“Nonostante la capillare ed encomiabile azione condotta sul territorio dalle Forze dell’ordine – ha detto infatti Paolo Zabeo della Cgia di Mestre – il 77 per cento dei furti nei negozi rimane impunito. Inferiore dunque al trenta per cento la percentuale di reati denunciati e poi puniti. E’ sconfortante!”. “E’ sconfortante sì – conclude il Segretario Generale del Coisp -. Soprattutto perché noi facciamo davvero sacrifici enormi per tentare di salvare il salvabile, ed avvertire questi toni sfiduciati della gente è come vanificare tutti i nostri sforzi. Ma ancor più sconfortante è vedere con quale menefreghismo chi ci governa reagisca di fronte a questo stato di cose, di fatto ignorando bisogni, esigenze e richieste dei cittadini, ed insistendo a non gestire con la dovuta serietà ciò che attiene al diritto alla sicurezza degli italiani, che invece richiederebbe ben altri interventi che ci consentissero di adempiere al meglio ai nostri compiti”.

Prostituzione: Amnesty International su depenalizzazione

“Se anche Amnesty International, la più importante associazione al mondo per la difesa dei diritti umani, si schiera, a sorpresa, a favore della depenalizzazione della prostituzione è la prova che se si affronta il problema senza condizionamenti ideologici si arriva all’unica soluzione ragionevole per regolarizzare un fenomeno che assume molto spesso i contorni dello sfruttamento sessuale, e non solo, della persona”. Così la senatrice del Pd Maria Spilabotte, prima firmataria del disegno di legge per la regolamentazione della prostituzione, commenta la presa di posizione da parte di Amnesty International a favore della depenalizzazione della prostituzione.
“Dopo questa presa di posizione – prosegue Spilabotte – è ancora più difficile contestare l’approccio regolamentaristico al fenomeno della prostituzione da parte delle associazioni cattoliche e del femminismo radicale e da quanti sembrano dimenticare le tante schiave del sesso che popolano le strade delle nostre città. Affrontare con obiettività e lucidità il fenomeno della prostituzione senza falsi moralismi e pregiudizi ideologici significa fare una buona legge che sia in grado di strappare tante donne dalle mani di ignobili sfruttatori.”Tratta di esseri umani, riduzione in schiavitù, sfruttamento della prostituzione – aggiunge – sono aspetti terribili di questo fenomeno che con il mio ddl intendo contrastare fermamente e le statistiche ci dicono che la prostituzione in strada è il loro terreno di coltura privilegiato. Certo le posizioni da conciliare sono tante, ma io credo che con un poco di buon senso e con una proficua collaborazione qualcosa di buono da questa discussione possa essere prodotto. L`importante sarà non lasciarsi andare a derive autoritaristiche o a crociate moralizzatrici”, conclude la senatrice Pd.
