Mirko Signorile performs at Jazz Bistro Toronto

Toronto Tuesday, November 10, 2015 7:00-8:15pm AND 9:30-10:45pm Istituto italiano di Cultura Jazz Bistro – 251 Victoria St, Mirko Signorile, Apulian pianist, class ’74, is active on the national jazz scene as leader of his own projects and as accompanist. Over the years, he has played with Dave Liebman, Greg Osby, Coung Vu, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, David Binney, Gianluca Petrella, Fabrizio Bosso, Gaetano Partipilo, Roberto Ottaviano, Davide Viterbo. His artistic activity embraces also other arts like cinema, theatre and contemporary dance. His discography includes six albums: “In full life” (Soul Note, 2003), “The Magic Circle” (Soul Note, 2005) and “Clessidra” (Emarcy/Universal, 2009), which has had public and critics acclaim (it was considered the best album for “Argo Jazz”) and has brought to the win of the prestigious Italian Jazz Awards of 2010 for the section “Best Jazz Act”. In 2009 and in 2012 he recorded with Giovanna Carone “Betàm Soul” and “Far Libe”, two recording projects dedicated to the Yiddish music. On 30 November 2012 his last album was produced and released for the label Auand “Piano Series”. The award-winning Jazz pianist will have some fresh material for his Toronto concert off his new album Waiting For You, (available for digital download on November 15).
