U.S.A.: What happened at tonight’s debate

Posted by fidest press agency su lunedì, 10 ottobre 2016

tammyBefore tonight’s presidential debate, I spent the afternoon at a campaign event with President Obama. He’s supporting me for the seat he once held in the U.S. Senate because, as he said, “Tammy Duckworth knows that the best way to strengthen the middle class is by building an economy that works not just for a few — but for all of us.” We have a critical choice in this election between protecting and expanding on the progress we’ve made over the past 8 years — or advancing an agenda that leaves millions of Americans on their own.
On Friday, we learned horrifying news about Donald Trump’s treatment of women. But we’ve known long before this week that Trump and his fellow Republicans are the wrong choice to move our nation forward.
Tonight’s debate is a reminder that it’s more important than ever for Democrats to take back control of the U.S. Senate, both to build a firewall to stop Donald Trump and to make sure we have a majority that will look out for working families. The New York Times says Illinois is our best chance in the country to flip a Republican seat.
