Seminar: Working Through Veterinary Drug Development in the EU and USA

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 2 maggio 2019

The “Working Through Veterinary Drug Development in the EU and USA” conference has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of how to develop a veterinary medicine in the EU and USA. The development of a veterinary medicine is complex, time consuming and expensive. It requires teamwork from individuals with different scientific training and a wide range of skills. Everyone involved must be aware of the main stages in the development programme and be able to relate his or her responsibilities to the expertise and needs of the scientists and commercial members of the team.Furthermore, different approaches taken by the regulatory authorities in the European Union and the USA mean that a comprehensive development programme must be designed in order for the product to be commercialised in both the American and European regions. This course has been designed to demonstrate how pharmaceutical, pharmacological, toxicological and clinical investigations and regulatory management are brought together in the development programme. It will take the participants through all the stages in the development of a veterinary medicinal product for which a marketing authorisation is sought in the European Union and the USA.Presentations will cover pharmaceutical and process development, toxicological, pharmacological, residues and environmental studies, safety risk assessments, clinical development, regulatory and marketing input and project management. An important part of the programme will be devoted to working on case studies in the workshop sessions.

Fitch Ratings (“Fitch”) announced it has upgraded the Insurer Financial Strength (IFS) ratings of Athene Holding Ltd.’s (“Athene”) (NYSE: ATH) operating companies to ‘A’ (strong) from ‘A-’ (strong). At the same time, Fitch has also upgraded the Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) of Athene Holding Ltd. to ‘BBB+’ from ‘BBB’. Fitch’s ratings and analysis are intended to assess the level of corporate financial strength and creditworthiness. The ‘A’ financial strength rating is Fitch’s third highest rating category, reflecting high credit quality and low default risk.“This upgrade reflects our superior financial results, very strong capital position and our increasing business diversification from our multi-channel distribution platform,” said Jim Belardi, CEO of Athene. “We are proud that S&P, A.M. Best and now Fitch have all recognized Athene with ‘A’ ratings, and we look forward to additional ratings upgrades in the future. Our increasing presence in the marketplace as an A-rated company will enable us to establish new partnerships and expand our reach as a financial solutions provider to a broader market.” Fitch cited Athene’s very strong earnings and financial performance as key drivers behind the upgrade, as well as Athene’s maintenance of strong balance sheet fundamentals. The rating agency noted, “Athene’s improved business profile has been driven by expansion into adjacent product lines, expanded distribution and increased business volumes as the company has maintained its strong presence in the fixed annuity market and increasing its presence in the pension risk transfer business.”

Oklahoma Specialty Hospital Selects the Evident Thrive EHR System

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 2 maggio 2019

Evident LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of CPSI (NASDAQ: CPSI) and a leading provider of electronic health record (EHR) systems and services, announced today that Oklahoma Spine Hospital, a specialty surgical hospital located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has selected the cloud-hosted Thrive EHR solution to replace their existing system through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) payment model. They are expected to be live on Thrive by the fourth quarter of 2019.Oklahoma Spine Hospital started an EHR selection process when they were informed that their current vendor’s EHR was not certified to meet the requirements of the Promoting Interoperability Program. In order to meet their goal of attesting to CMS for the 2019 reporting period, they knew they had to explore other options. Once the search began, the team from Oklahoma Spine Hospital realized quickly that Evident was a good fit for them. The Evident Thrive solution will provide Oklahoma Spine Hospital with a level of external and internal interoperability they do not have, allowing providers to focus more on the patient and less on paperwork. Additionally, Evident’s proven track record with Oklahoma Spine Hospital’s sister facility, Black Hills Surgical Hospital, gave credibility to the Thrive EHR solution and the team from Evident.“While finding a certified EHR that would allow us to meet the 2019 reporting year requirements for the Promoting Interoperability Program instigated our search, we are gaining much more than that with Evident,” said Gary McCool, technology director of Oklahoma Spine Hospital. “We believe the functionality of the Thrive EHR will also lead to higher levels of patient satisfaction.” McCool added, “The deciding factor for us was being able to see the success that a similar specialty hospital is experiencing using Thrive. We are very happy with our decision and look forward to partnering with Evident for a long time to come.”

Linux Project to Help Car Manufacturers Drive Shorter Development Cycles, Accelerate Software Quality

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 2 maggio 2019

CloudBees, the enterprise DevOps leader powering the continuous economy, today announced it has joined Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), a collaborative cross-industry effort changing the way automotive manufacturers build software. AGL is an open source project at the Linux Foundation, a nonprofit organization enabling mass innovation through open source technology. With more smart cars and other devices being developed, automotive and hardware manufacturers are competing more diligently at the software level. CloudBees helps these organizations create more time for experimentation and innovation by accelerating build times and shortening functional, performance and security testing cycles. For example, just 25 CloudBees customers using its build and test acceleration platform, CloudBees Accelerator, saved more than three million developer hours from 459,331 build jobs worldwide in March alone – totaling more than 20 million developer hours saved in the last 10 months. Those 20 million hours represent 500,000 40-hour weeks that developers in these organizations were able to devote to new innovation.
Today, more than 130 AGL members are working together to develop a common open source platform that can serve as the de facto industry standard for infotainment, telematics and instrument cluster applications. Adopting an open platform across the industry enables automakers and suppliers to share and reuse the same code base, which reduces development costs, decreases time-to-market for new products and reduces fragmentation across the industry.“For car technology organizations, getting new software off the assembly line and onto the road faster matters, but a more rapid innovation cycle is not possible with lengthy builds and testing cycles,” said Anders Wallgren, vice president of technology strategy, CloudBees. “CloudBees is an engine to help these development and engineering teams create safer car technology, faster, by accelerating builds and optimizing tests, thus creating more time to iterate and experiment.”
