Capitalismo e erosione dei sistemi democratici

Abbiamo sempre pensato che non ci fosse conflittualità tra il capitalismo ed i sistemi democratici entro i quali esprimono il loro agire, ma non è così. E’ che il capitalismo come oggi lo viviamo tende sempre di più a mostrare il volto negazionista o per lo meno insofferenza sugli elementi costitutivi degli stati nazionali fondati su precise premesse sociali, culturali e giuridiche. Questa discrasia tende a rimettere in discussione gli stessi elementi costitutivi dello Stato a partire dal territorio, la sovranità popolare e l’ordinamento giuridico. Ciò significa che i confini tendono a diventare permeabili ai flussi migratori, monetari e alle forme culturali più superficiali come le mode e i consumi attraverso la comunicazione globale. A ben considerare non sarebbe un male se il fine fosse quello di un’equa ripartizione delle risorse, per una drastica riduzione dei conflitti e nel dare una certa omogeneità attraverso la comunicazione globale alle forme più superficiali di cultura e soprattutto alla cultura dei consumi. Ma così non è, purtroppo. In questa fattispecie il popolo perderebbe la sua identità culturale dando vita a fenomeni di massa che limitano il senso della continuità storica e della percezione del futuro. Si perderebbero le certezze del dettato costituzionale non più orientato da valori ma da interessi di parte. Resta da chiederci se mai è possibile una democrazia, come noi la conosciamo, senza Stato? Affidata agli interessi e alle fluttuazioni di poteri sociali non sottoposti a limiti e deprivate di valori? Sarebbe, senza dubbio, una svolta involutiva come sta già accadendo negli Stati Uniti, dove l’assistenza sanitaria è garantita solo ai possessori di un reddito. Diventerebbe una sudditanza delle culture nazionali e delle qualità condivise nella tradizione e nei costumi di un Popolo nella sua identità di Nazione. (Riccardo Alfonso)

La visione del potere

Il titolo l’ho preso dall’omonimo libro di Gaetano Mosca e Guglielmo Ferrero. E’ stato un punto di partenza per una mia riflessione sull’evoluzione delle istituzioni democratiche che la letteratura sociologica del XX secolo ci ha dato testimonianza lasciandoci intravedere la possibilità di una sua realizzazione. E’ stato un sogno dei nostri padri e ora che figli siamo mi rendo conto che è stata e continua ad essere un’impresa molto ardua. Da cosa possa dipendere questa mancata trasformazione della democrazia è difficile a sapersi. Per Pareto là dove si mettono in moto forze centripete vi fanno da contraltare forze centrifughe e disgregatrici. Può bastarci questa spiegazione? Da parte mia no. Credo che dipenda dal cattivo uso che abbiamo fatto delle novazioni messe in campo. Penso ai processi che ci hanno portato al mondo globalizzato, al libero commercio e ad uno sviluppo economico non più concepibile in ambiti nazionali.
A questo riguardo i cultori della materia ci hanno spiegato che il problema sta negli stessi principi della democrazia “in quanto devono essere totalmente ripensati e ricostruiti venendo a mancare i due contraenti del patto di dominio: non essendoci un popolo “transnazionale” e una classe politica o una espressione di rappresentanza sostanziale ed effettiva di realtà sociali che vadano al di là del mondo degli interessi.” Cosa s’intende dire con ciò? Che è relativamente facile creare accordi e istituzioni concernenti gli interessi economici mentre è molto difficile renderli compatibili. E i conflitti in atto nell’Unione europea lo stanno a dimostrare, e non solo. Vedasi la guerra dei dazi tra Usa e Cina. Noi da una parte abbiamo puntato ad un allargamento dei mercati liberalizzando il transito delle merci e potenziato le concentrazioni industriali e finanziarie per diffondere su larga scala l’economicismo come principio ideologico dominante dall’altra non siamo stati capaci di superare i confini degli stati nazionali e delle singole culture.
Ma abbiamo fatto di peggio. Ci siamo serviti della Banca Mondiale, del Fondo Monetario Internazionale, del Wto per trasformali per ciò che non dovrebbero essere ovvero in organismi politici. (Riccardo Alfonso)

Qui si compie il destino di tutti gli esseri viventi, dal più piccolo al più grande, dal più saggio al più ignorante. Solo in questo modo possiamo giungere a un grado maggiormente elevato di consapevolezza e di compiutezza. Il genere umano, così procedendo, cammina, ma si può anche incedere senza procedere, si avanza, sotto certi aspetti, e si arretra sotto altri. La barbarie è una di tali cammini a ritroso.
L’uomo è condannato a un movimento continuo ma giunto al più alto livello la sua intenzione di volervi restare stabilmente lo spinge a compiere passi retrogradi. L’esempio dell’Eden in cui vissero Eva e Adamo lo sta dimostrando. Essi, per un eccesso di sicurezza, finirono con il perdere tutto, tranne l’amore.
E’ questo il filo d’Arianna, figlia del mitico re di Creta Minosse e di Pasifae che salva Teseo che si era avventurato nel labirinto per uccidere il Minotauro. E’ un filo d’amore. E’ quello che permette all’eroe di ritrovare la via del ritorno.
Sono storie simboliche, forse semplicemente spettacolari, ma tanto confacenti alla natura stessa dell’essere umano che si ritrova sempre con lo stesso ricorrente tema: quello del sentimento più puro che sprona all’azione, alla ricerca, alla bellezza e ci aiuta a capire la vita e ancor più la morte.
E’ tutto questo solo sentimento? Forse. Il sentimento, tuttavia, non inganna mai. Non coglie e non afferma che un rapporto, e questo non è un’apparenza ingannatrice. Esso non delude, per quanto primitivo può apparire.
E’ invincibile, universale e ci conduce sulle esistenze e le realtà e le annuncia con evidenza manifesta. Allora può servire di base a un giudizio assoluto e necessario. E’ la coscienza dell’esistente e delle esistenze.
L’attenzione che diamo a una cosa è sempre proporzionata all’interesse che essa c’ispira o alla forza di volontà che vi mettiamo. Quando questi due principi dell’attenzione si concentrano su un determinato oggetto, allora soltanto essa raggiunge il suo più alto grado di forza. In una passione, nulla ci sfugge di ciò che con essa ha rapporto, vicino o lontano che sia. I senza anima o gli uomini deboli di carattere, che, di fatto, non s’interessano di nulla, non sono suscettibili d’attenzione, o almeno di una valida attenzione. Per loro è necessario ritornare a vivere per assaporare ciò che hanno perso nelle vite precedenti. Sono i Teseo senza la loro Arianna. (Riccardo Alfonso)

China National Medical Products Administration Grants Innovative Medical Device Designation

Ancora Heart Enrolls First Patient in European Multi-Center Study

Ancora Heart, Inc., a company developing a novel therapy to address heart failure, today announced the first patient was enrolled in the CorCinch EU study, a European multi-center clinical evaluation of the AccuCinch® Ventricular Repair System as a treatment for patients with reduced ejection fraction systolic heart failure (HFrEF).
The first patient was enrolled at Homolka Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic by Prof. Petr Neužil, M.D., CSc., FESC, head of the department of cardiology at Homolka Hospital and principal investigator of the study. This is the second recently initiated Ancora study evaluating the AccuCinch system focused specifically on heart failure and the enlarged left ventricle. The study will enroll up to 132 patients from heart centers across Europe.
The transcatheter AccuCinch therapy is designed to complement and enhance the existing care cardiologists provide to further manage symptoms and slow, or stop, the progression of heart failure. For some patients, AccuCinch may have the potential to reverse the enlargement of the left ventricle. For patients where heart failure has progressed beyond the ability for medications and pacemakers to manage symptoms, non-surgical percutaneous device therapy with AccuCinch may provide an effective treatment option. The AccuCinch system is designed to directly repair the left ventricle of the heart, thereby addressing the fundamental issue in the progression of systolic heart failure.
