Tajikistan Telecoms, Mobile and Broadband Statistics and Analyses Report 2019

Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 3 dicembre 2019

The “Tajikistan – Telecoms, Mobile and Broadband – Statistics and Analyses” report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering.Of all the former Soviet republics, Tajikistan’s telecommunications infrastructure was arguably the least developed. With a telecom network that was near total collapse, the government had the daunting task of bringing it up to modern standards. Despite the launch of 4G/LTE services, the overall telecom sector has continued to struggle. Tajikistan still has one of the lowest fixed-line penetrations in the Asian region and one of the lowest broadband levels of broadband penetration.Tajikistan’s mobile sector has been on a strong growth path for over a decade. It continues to be the standout feature of the country’s telecom industry. However, as the market has moved closer to a saturation phase there has been an inevitable slowing in the growth rate. By 2019 Tcell claimed to have the widest 4G coverage in Tajikistan, having reached seven major cities plus several other towns by the end of 2017. Moderate growth is predicted over the next five years to 2023. The market will be constrained from higher growth due to strong local competition and a further maturing market. There are five major operators in the market: Tcell, Babilon Mobile, MegaFon, Tacom / Beeline and TK Mobile. Tcell has the largest overall market share, followed by Babilon Mobile, Megafon, Tacom / Beeline and TK Mobile. VEON completed the sale of Tacom, to its local investment partner ZET Mobile Ltd. VEON had been looking at an exit from Tajikistan’s mobile sector since for some time over concerns at the country’s erratic taxation system, which had badly impacted on profitability in prior recent years.Fixed broadband penetration in Tajikistan remains extremely low mainly due to a limited number of fixed lines as well as the dominance of the mobile platform. Market penetration has only grown marginally over the last five years from a very small base. Over the next five years to 2023 growth is expected to continue but overall market penetration will remain extremely low.Tajikistan has seen a strong increase in mobile broadband penetration over the past four years however the mobile broadband market is still at an early stage of development and penetration remains relatively low compared to other Asian nations. Very strong growth is predicted over the next five years to 2023. The mobile broadband market will be driven by a rising level of mobile subscribers, increasingly faster speeds offered by the mobile operators as they roll out their 4G networks and improving tariffs due to strong competition.Tajikstan is ranked 31st with a Telecoms Maturity Index score of 12. This places it in the Market Emergents category. The publisher’s Asian Telecoms Maturity Index, is an index (on a scale between 0 and 100) that measures and ranks the relative maturity of the telecoms industry in all of the 34 countries in Asia). Compared to other Asian nations, it has very low fixed-broadband penetration and very low mobile broadband penetration.

Investor Tej Kohli Expands ‘Venture Philanthropy’ Into 3d-printed Bionic Arms

Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 3 dicembre 2019

Investor Tej Kohli is to fund the purchase of ten bionic arms for children with limb differences in the UK. The Tej Kohli Foundation hopes that its commitment to fund arms for ten children over the next 5 months as part of its ‘Future Bionics’ program will highlight how assistive technology can substantially improve the lives and confidence of young people living with disabilities. The Tej Kohli Foundation hopes to inspire and influence other healthcare institutions to follow this lead and discover the advanced 3D-printed technology.

In England the National Health Service (‘NHS’) currently provides a single-grip myoelectric-controlled (‘myo’) prosthesis at a cost of approximately £8,000. However, the Open Bionics Hero Arm can be controlled with the electrical signals generated by a user’s muscles and has superior multi-grip functionality that enables users to perform many more everyday activities. The Open Bionics Hero Arm costs £10,000 through a private prosthetics clinic in the UK, whereas other advanced multi-grip bionic hands cost £30,000 – £60,000. The Tej Kohli Foundation will spend an initial £100,000 to launch its ‘Future Bionics’ programme, which will enable ten British children to access not just a superior technology, but a better life. The first Hero Arm recipient is 10-year-old Jacob Pickering from Blackburn, who will receive his new Hero Arm just in time for Christmas. Jacob was born without his right arm as a result of amniotic band syndrome. All Jacob has spoken about for the past month is the Hero Arm, and his father David is “completely overwhelmed” that Jacob has been selected for a donation and claims that it will “change Jacob’s life”. The second Hero Arm recipient is 14-year-old Harris Gribble from Exeter, who is a keen Rugby and Cricket player. The lightweight Hero Arm is currently the only multi-grip myo prosthetic arm that is available for paediatric use. The enhanced ability of the user to be able to personalise their 3D-printed Open Bionics Hero Arm is also a huge boost to mental well-being and to perceived social acceptance. This is particularly important for younger people. Investor Tej Kohli first discovered Bristol-based Open Bionics when he invested into ‘Rewired’, a robotics-focused venture studio ‘with a humanitarian bent’ that was a very-early backer of Open Bionics in 2017.

NRI Secure Launches Japan’s First IT Security Assessment Service for Container Orchestration

Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 3 dicembre 2019

NRI SecureTechnologies, Ltd. (NRI Secure) today launched Japan’s first1 IT security assessment service for systems with container orchestration2, that uses the leading container orchestration tool “Kubernetes.”This service provides IT security assessment for a system using container orchestration technology from the viewpoints of both “static analysis” by interpreting configuration files, and “dynamic analysis” by attempting simulated attacks. The assessment consists of manual inspection by engineers of NRI Secure who have expert knowledge of container orchestration as well as several tests using auxiliary inspection tools. This service detects security issues by checking the validity of the information on the configuration file, and the architecture configuration generated by container orchestration. In addition to the independent inspection of each configuration file, a comprehensive and highly accurate assessment is performed to check whether the configuration state is appropriate or not by looking at the entire architecture. This enables us to detect security issues at the design phase that are often overlooked by the inspection tool alone.Followed by Kubernetes, NRI Secure plans to add more container orchestration tools to the scope of this IT security assessment service. In recent years, as DX (digital transformation) has become more widespread, the need for greater flexibility and speed in system development has increased, and the design concepts and infrastructure technologies that support these requirements have been rapidly evolving. In particular, microservice4, which develops applications by splitting them into services and functions, and other system development that presuppose deployment of cloud-native5 and serverless6 architectures are becoming more common. One of the technologies that underpin these architectures is an application execution environment called a container. The emergence of container orchestration tools that automatically deploy, scale, and so on has increased the adoption of containers when building systems. On the other hand, since containers are a new technology area, there is a high possibility that the system is operating with a weak configuration since security measures are not yet fully in place. To deal with increasingly intense cyber threats and attacks, it is necessary to take appropriate security measures, such as access and privilege management, with a view to the entire system architecture, as well as vulnerability measures for the container itself.NRI Secure will continue to provide various products and services in response to trends and threats of the times for supporting companies and organizations in their information security measures, contributing to promoting digital transformation for a safe and secure society.
