Lowry ranging from seascapes to the familiar crowd scenes as well as poignant portraits. Lowry’s haunting painting, Man in a Trilby (1960, estimate: £150,000-250,000), exemplifies the artist’s fascination with those considered misfits and will lead the auction. The St Ives School is represented by Terry Frost’s Black, White and Ochre Figure, August 1959 (estimate: £30,000-40,000), Roger Hilton’s September 1960 (estimate: £30,000-50,000), Ben Nicholson’s 1946 (Tibetan) (estimate: £100,000-150,000), and Alfred Wallis’s Sailing Ship in a Stormy Sea (1955, estimate: £12,000-18,000).
