LONDON – Christie’s 20/21 October Season includes two Evening Sales presented on 13 October – 20th / 21st Century: London Evening Sale and A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection. These are followed by the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale on 14 October, First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, the online-only sale taking place from 4 to 18 October 2022 and No Regrets: The Collector’s Edition, live for bidding from 5 to 19 October. Katharine Arnold, Head of Post-War and Contemporary Art, Europe: “This October, Christie’s presents a season defined by the greatest British painters who are offered alongside the very best contemporary names. A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection is the most significant collection of contemporary African Art to come to the market. Driven by a desire to support arts and environmental charities, Robert Devereux will donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale to The African Arts Trust who in turn will distribute the funds to Gasworks, The Africa Centre, Lamu Environment Fund and Bët Bi. Continuing charitable collaborations, Tracey Emin is offering her painting Like a Cloud of Blood, which is being sold by the artist to raise funds for her pioneering artist complex in Margate. Our two Evening Sales reflect the vibrancy of London’s art world as we welcome the global collecting community back to our Headquarters to coincide with Frieze Week.”
