Bruxelles. The WV EUREP office is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that works to support World Vision’s engagements with the institutions of the European Union (EU). The Brussels office interacts with these groups in pursuit of two main strategic goals:To influence key EU decision-makers and political processes so that policies, programs and funding opportunities of the EU positively impact vulnerable children and their communities;
To promote and facilitate access by World Vision offices around the world to the funding opportunities provided by the EU, the largest single donor for development and humanitarian aid.In line with World Vision International’s strategic goals, WV EUREP works in partnership with other organisations in order to maximize its impact, including:CSC-Hub: a global network of organizations and individuals working on conflict sensitive approaches in their field which aims at bringing together actors in the fields of development, humanitarian, peacebuilding, security, research and business using conflict sensitivity at policy, organizational and programmatic level. The CSC-Hub is currently steered by World Vision from Brussels, which promotes and coordinates the HUB’s activities, jointly agreed and run by the Hub members; EYPB: a coalition of Europe-based international peacebuilding and development organisations and independent experts. EYPB works towards achieving the meaningful participation of young people’s voices at the EU-level, and ensuring their needs, capabilities and challenges are being taken into account in the EU’s peace, security and development policies. The Partnership’s founding members are Save the Children, Search for Common Ground, United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY Peacebuilders), World Vision and PeaceMatters.

European Hematologists will discuss breakthroughs in blood disorders

milanoMilan, Italy – June 12-15, 2014 The Board of the European Hematology Association (EHA) has the pleasure to cordially invite you, as a member of the press, to the 19th Congress of EHA. More than 9,500 participants from around the world are expected at the upcoming 19th Congress of the European Hematology Association at the MiCo – Milano Congressi in Milan, Italy from June 12-15, 2014. Hematology is a specialty that covers everything to do with blood: its origin in the bone marrow, diseases of blood and their treatments. The latest data on research and development within the spectrum of hematology are presented. The Congress is aimed at health professionals working or interested in the field of hematology. The scientific topics range from stem cell physiology and development, to leukemia; lymphoma; diagnosis and treatment; red blood cells; white blood cells and platelet disorders; hemophilia and myeloma; thrombosis and bleeding disorders as well as transfusion and stem cell transplantation. A number of sessions in the Congress program are dedicated to more general health care issues such as: The Advocacy track will address the topic of young patients with old people’s diseases as well as generic medicines in hematology discussed from different perspectives.The EHA-ASH joint symposium will cover the topic pricing. And the EHA-ESH joint symposium handles, in an interactive session for hematologists and patients, the question for the second year around: “What do you mean, I can’t have the treatment?”
State-of-the-art science will also be presented.
