PRSA Colorado Announces 2020 Leadership Team

The Public Relations Society of America Colorado Chapter (PRSA Colorado) has announced its 2020 board of directors. New board members are volunteer professionals and were elected at the annual meeting. The 2020 board will begin its term Jan. 1, 2020 under incoming President Geoff Renstrom.Renstrom has spent nearly a decade leading PR agencies in the Denver market. Renstrom is president and owner of Attune Public Relations and focuses on communications strategy, media relations, crisis support, issues management, media training and digital storytelling to clients ranging from energy, B2B, craft beer and major consumer lifestyle and food brands. Renstrom has a bachelor’s degree in communication from Boise State University and a master’s degree in strategic communication from The University of Denver. Five Prime Announces Restructuring

Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. RSA Conference 2019 APJ Announces Innovation Program for Regional Cybersecurity Entrepreneurs Ecosystem

Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Announces the Completion of the Sale of its Marketed Portfolio

Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ-GS: SPPI), a biopharmaceutical company focused on novel and targeted oncology therapies, today completed the sale of its portfolio of seven FDA-approved hematology/oncology products to Acrotech Biopharma L.L.C., a step-down subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma Limited, India.“The completion of this sale marks a significant pivot point in Spectrum’s history as we focus our efforts on our two promising late stage assets, ROLONTIS® and poziotinib,” stated Joe Turgeon, President and CEO of Spectrum Pharmaceuticals. “This transaction puts us in a strong capital position for the next chapter of our growth.”Under the terms of the agreement, Acrotech will make a $158.8 million up-front cash payment which represents the original payment of $160 million less certain purchase price adjustments for certain R&D activities. In addition, the company is eligible to receive up to $140 million in milestone payments. Spectrum has also reduced its staff by approximately 40 percent with the majority of impacted staff transitioning to Acrotech. Otter.ai Announces Otter for Education at Educause

At Educause 2018, AISense, Inc., which does business as Otter.ai, announced its intention to launch Otter for Education, a version of Otter Voice Notes designed to meet the needs of universities and other higher level education institutions, in December 2018. Otter.ai also announced that Tulane University, Western Kentucky University and UCLA have signed agreements to use Otter Voice Notes, as an accessibility aid by students that have a note-taking accommodation. These pilot customers are informing the account management and end-user features of Otter for Education. Since its launch earlier this year, thousands of individual students have become users of Otter Voice Notes. A substantial number have signed up for our premium plan availing of education user discounted pricing of $4.99 per month. The variety of use cases include lecture note-taking; transcription of research interviews; capturing notes from group study sessions; and processing of public audio data for research purposes.
Disability services departments at several leading universities have begun to promote the application as an alternative accessibility tool for students. Otter is viewed as being more full featured, usable and economical compared with competing technologies that were designed specifically as an assistive technology for note-taking. Otter goes beyond assisting and is an empowering technology for users who can activate it in any environment using the mobile app or browser. Given the interest from educational institutions, Otter.ai initiated a pilot program to enable trial of Otter Voice Notes for use by students requiring note taking assistance. Participants also agreed to deliver feedback regarding how to optimize our forthcoming enterprise release for Education. UCLA, Tulane, and Western Kentucky University, are among several universities that have signed up to be part of the Otter for Education pilot program. Participating students may rely on peer note-taking assistance and may currently use other assistive technologies.
The feedback from use of Otter as an accessibility tool has been very positive and resulted in interest from others on campus. At one institution, the athletics department wants to use Otter to take and share notes for members of the basketball team while they are traveling. At another the student welfare department is considering other uses for the technology for note taking during interviews.Reticence on the part of educators regarding the use of recording in the classroom is allayed as they may be given control over who can access transcripts live that they record via their own instance of Otter and choose to share. Others view it as a method to ensure participation for all students in the classroom and are actively embracing the technology. College lectures at many leading institutions are now recorded and published online. Manual transcription is expensive and takes time. Otter enables real-time transcription and is considerably less costly. New US Real Estate Center Announces Major Initiatives

The Grant Center for Real Estate and Economic Development at Coastal carolina university, which was launched at the beginning of 2016, has announced three major initiatives as part of its strategy to develop a prominent role in the international real estate sector: It has appointed Dr. Robert F. Salvino, Ph.D. to serve as its first associate director.
It is the first academic institution in the world to become a “Supporting Partner” of the International Ethics Standards Coalition, a group of 64 leading real estate and construction organizations creating new ethics standards for the global market.It has joined FIABCI (the Paris-based International Real Estate Federation) as an Academic Member.Dr. Robert F. Salvino will develop and manage the domestic and international programming in cooperation with the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration, organize the recruitment and development of student and faculty fellows, lead research and outreach activities and manage stakeholder relations.Salvino has been a member of the faculty of Coastal Carolina University in the Department of Finance and Economics since 2007 and the research economist for the former Center for Economic and Community Development since 2010.Salvino will continue his work monitoring the economic activity for the region and serving as a liaison between the business, government and academic communities. As associate director for the Grant Center, he will expand the monitoring services to include a greater depth of the real estate economy. He will also work with members of the real estate and related industries in the coastal region of South Carolina to develop a new academic program in commercial and investment real estate.To help deliver on the mission of the new Grant Center, Salvino has hired Trevor Tarleton as the Center’s first research assistant. Tarleton earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from CCU and holds an associate degree in applied science in forestry management technology. He brings a diversified background to his new role, including multiple certifications in forestry and land management techniques. Prior to returning to CCU to pursue his MBA, he was employed with AlphaEMC, where he provided consulting work for large land developers and builders in the coastal region.
As a Supporting Partner of the International Ethics Standards Coalition, Coastal Carolina University will be identified as an early promoter of new international best practice for the entire real estate and construction sector. The Ethics Standards, when ratified, will consist of high-level principles for implementation through the codes of conduct of professional bodies. The objective is to provide assurance, consistency and confidence to all users of professional services.
By joining FIABCI the Grant Center will become part of a global network of academic institutions and real estate professions. FIABCI has members in approximately 65 countries and holds special consultative status with the United Nations.
The Grant Center for Real Estate and Economic Development serves students and professionals engaged in all facets of real estate and economic development and provides market analysis, study-based scholarships, networking opportunities, internships and technical study tours of international sites.The Grant Center leverages the global ties of Coastal Carolina University and key partners, including students, alumni, faculty, staff and board members. It offers courses in commercial and investment real estate, publishes scholarly research and produces applied studies for stakeholders in the region. The center also hosts the annual real estate and economic summit and awards gala, provides seminar talks on a regular basis and consults for various private, government and nonprofit groups.The key mission is to support the education of its students to the highest levels of competence and professionalism. Also, to broaden the economic base of the region, serving as a bridge between the University and the wider community.
