Global Aircraft Sequencing Systems Market Analysis

Posted by fidest press agency su sabato, 24 agosto 2019

The “Global Aircraft Sequencing Systems Market Size, Market Share, Application Analysis, Regional Outlook, Growth Trends, Key Players, Competitive Strategies and Forecasts, 2019-2027” report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering. The global aircraft sequencing systems market set to demonstrate promising CAGR of 9.68% across the forecast period through 2019 to 2027.Global air traffic has experienced a substantial surge over the past few years that resulted in significant delays at almost every major airport. Such rapid growth in traffic demands operationally sound technologies for aiding air traffic management and the controller workforce.Optimal landing sequences for aircraft arrival is a critical task as constraints of spacing between arrivals depend on several different conditions. The First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) practice has been used as the most common approach for sequencing aircraft, which schedules the aircraft based on the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) at the runway. However, landing efficiency in terms of runway throughput is not guaranteed by FCFS when redundant spacing requirements exist. Therefore, advanced aircraft sequencing systems as well as automation tools deployed in the operational environment to enhance the efficiency of the system by maximizing runway efficiency while maintaining safety.

Odaseva Launches Full Sandbox Personal Data Anonymization Application

Posted by fidest press agency su sabato, 10 agosto 2019

Odaseva, the unified cloud data protection, compliance and operations platform for enterprises running Salesforce as a business-critical application, today announced the availability of its Full Sandbox Anonymization application (FSA) for Salesforce customers. The application works with the Odaseva platform to anonymize all personal information that an organization may put in a Salesforce Full Sandbox – which is an isolated copy of an organization’s Salesforce environment that can be used for training, development and testing. The FSA application is the first of its kind, and Odaseva developed this tool to help enterprises comply with the strict data privacy laws such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) that are calling for more robust measures to protect consumer information in just a click of a button — at every step of the innovation process, including test environments. The FSA application is preconfigured to anonymize all personal data in Salesforce including leads, contacts, users, activities, chatter and files, among other private consumer data points containing first names, last names, emails, birthdates, home addresses, etc. Odaseva users can install the application within a few minutes and can customize it to meet their organization’s anonymization requirements and regulation needs, reducing development and maintenance costs.“Any company that is safeguarding private customer data in Salesforce Production but fails to anonymize their Salesforce Sandbox data is pretty much locking the door but leaving the window open,” said Sovan Bin, CEO and founder of Odaseva. “Even though the data has not gone into production and might still be residing in the test environment, personal data can still be accessed by unauthorized technical or personnel teams. Traditionally, anonymizing full Sandbox personal data would require a long and costly development and maintenance process. With Odaseva’s new application, users can anonymize their Salesforce Sandbox data with one click, saving organizations time and money, so they can focus on business innovation, training and testing, versus worrying about private customer data getting into the wrong hands.”The FSA application is an Odaseva’s Data Compliance solution and will be offered as a standalone product. http://www.odaseva.com.

Volkswagen Protects Virtual Key Sharing App with Trustonic Application Protection

Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 27 febbraio 2019

Volkswagen is working with mobile cyber security leader Trustonic to enable customers to use smartphones to access their vehicles, and to securely share their digital car keys to grant access to others via a smartphone app. Volkswagen is using the Trustonic Application Protection (TAP) platform to secure the mobile app and ensure that sensitive information and key transfer requests are securely displayed to, and approved by, a real authenticated user on a trusted device and not by hackers or malware simulating a user or device.
“The smartphone is becoming the vehicle key of the future and our We Connect service is the interface for this today in the new Volkswagen Passat,” comments Alf Pollex, Head of Infotainment and Connected Car at Volkswagen AG. “The user installs the We Connect app on their smartphone which is then authorized via the infotainment system with a Transaction Number. The Mobile Key will be compatible with Android-based Samsung devices. No mobile network connection is required to use the smartphone as a mobile key. All the user needs to do is place the smartphone near the door handle, in the same way as the current keyless locking and starting system ‘Keyless Access’ opens the Passat today. To start the engine, the smartphone is placed in a new compartment with an interface in front of the Passat’s gear knob. It is also possible to send the mobile key to friends or family via the app so that they can also use their smartphone as a key for the car.” By protecting the virtual key application using TAP, Volkswagen is making use of Trustonic’s Trusted User Interface (TUI) feature to securely display information to the user. TUI ensures that only the authenticated user of the device can confirm the key transfer, and to do so safely in isolation from the device’s main operating system during the confirmation.

Avatar-based application improves symptom recognition in heart attack survivors

Posted by fidest press agency su lunedì, 17 ottobre 2016

infarto miocardico acutoLisbon, Portugal An avatar-based application improves symptom recognition in heart attack survivors, reveals research presented today at Acute Cardiovascular Care 2016 by Jintana Tongpeth, a PhD student at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia.1“The medical profession has been slow to integrate technology into practice,” said senior author Professor Robyn Clark, professor of nursing at Flinders University. “Robots can do surgery but we’re still waiting for doctors to catch up with hairdressers who send appointment reminders by text message. The World Health Organization says 85% of the planet has access to Wi-fi so there is huge potential for communicating.”“Every year approximately 92% of persons who experience an out of hospital cardiac arrest event die before they arrive in the emergency department,” said Ms Tongpeth.2 “The time patients take to recognise symptoms of a heart attack and decide to seek medical help accounts for the largest portion of pre-hospital delay, which increases the chance of death. Patients who have had a heart attack are at high risk of a second heart attack.” There is little research to show that booklets are effective in teaching patients about health issues. But a systematic review has found emerging evidence that tablets, websites and mobile phones may work.3
The current study evaluated the impact of an avatar-based application (app) to improve heart attack patients’ ability to recognise the symptoms of a heart attack and correctly decide what to do. It also assessed how satisfied patients were with the app’s usability and ease of navigation. The study was conducted in two phases. Phase one used “action research” in which feedback on the design of the app was collected in cycles from cardiologists, patients and gaming IT experts. In eight minutes the avatar, a nurse named Cora, teaches heart attack warning signs and symptoms, and what to do when having heart attack (figure 1). It is interactive with a number of quizzes along the way. The text has come from Australian Heart Foundation literature. “We have found in patient education that cartoon like characters are less intimidating than a video with a doctor in a white coat giving a lecture on what to do,” said Professor Clark. “Cora is engaging, fun, and gives good feedback. Patients of any age can answer her questions by pressing yes/no on the screen.” In phase two the app was tested with ten heart attack patients. The investigators found that participants’ ability to recognise symptoms improved by 24% and their knowledge about what to do increased by 15%. More than 87% of patients said they were satisfied with the technology and found it easy to use.Ms Tongpeth said: “Patients said the app made it easy to learn. They enjoyed using it and said it had helped them to be more confident about recognising and managing heart attack symptom in the future.” The app has the potential to replace traditional booklets, brochures and complex medical language in patient education. The dialogue will also be translated so that Cora speaks 144 languages.“We want to reach all patients regardless of what language they speak, how old they are, and their level of literacy,” said Professor Robyn. “To use the app you don’t need to read or speak English, and you can get most of the messages from the pictures. It is also suitable for older patients with one message per screen and large buttons.”The idea is that patients who have suffered a heart attack would be given the app before discharge from hospital. Ultimately it could be used to increase awareness in patients without existing heart disease. The next stage in the research is to test the app’s ability to improve outcomes after a heart attack in a randomised controlled trial. Ms Tongpeth concluded: “Lack of knowledge on the symptoms of a heart attack is a major obstacle to seeking timely medical treatment and is associated with potentially preventable death and complications. With the app we hope to improve knowledge and response time, which should save heart muscle through faster paramedic support and treatment with stents to clear blocked arteries.”

Redwood City, Calif., BroadVision’s Kona(tm) 8.2 platform contains new features that facilitate and promote code reuse for easier and quicker e-business optimization. Instead of creating functionality or process code in two different web application packs, BroadVision allows the creation of common functionality in one shared pack and then the ability to reuse it in the two different applications by creating a dependency to the shared pack. This reduces QA cycles within a project and supports customers’ needs for faster time to market.  BroadVision 8.2 includes an enhanced administrative support for multiple currencies that allows the site administrator to specify a currency and the conversion rate.
