Arrow Electronics Supports Military Members and Their Families with Help A Hero Event

Arrow Electronics’ (NYSE:ARW) operations in Orange County, Calif. recently hosted a fundraiser to support American military members and their families. The 4th Annual Operation Help A Hero event benefitted Operation Help a Hero, a nonprofit that provides resources to the military community.Arrow customers and suppliers joined the company’s employees at the event, along with members of the United States Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton. Operation Help A Hero services include providing essential items for Marines transitioning home after deployments, hosting baby showers for expectant mothers and coordinating holiday gift drives for Marine families in need.Arrow also provided matching funds for the Orange County team’s volunteer hours through the Arrow Charitable Dollars for Doers program. Arrow employees from around the world regularly partner with local nonprofits, extending the company’s collaborative and innovative culture into the broader communities where they live and work.In 2018, Arrow employees donated nearly 6,000 volunteer hours in their local communities, supporting 165 charities at 747 events across the Americas.

Arrow Accelerates IoT Leadership Position with eInfochips Acquisition

(NYSE:ARW) announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire eInfochips, one of the world’s largest design and managed services companies.eInfochips works with global Fortune 1000 companies at every phase of technology deployment, including developing custom hardware and software and new IoT-based business models.eInfochips will expand Arrow’s IoT “sensor-to-sunset” platform by adding engineering, solution architecture, embedded software development, security, mobile device connectivity, app development, cloud configuration and management, and managed services including big-data analytics.“Upon close of this acquisition, eInfochips advances our IoT strategy, expands our offerings, and moves us into the rapidly growing IoT services market. As a result, we will deliver complex and connected IoT solutions and technologies across multiple cloud platforms,” said Michael J. Arrow Electronics Names Steven H. Gunby as a New Director to Its Board

Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW) announced that Steven H. Gunby, president and CEO of FTI Consulting, Inc., has been appointed to the company’s board of directors. Separately, after 20 years of service, John N. Hanson has retired from the board of directors. The addition of Mr. Gunby and departure of Mr. Hanson will leave the total number of directors on the board at nine. “I am delighted to have Steven join our board. He brings a tremendous knowledge of global business models and has a proven ability to guide innovation and growth,” said Michael J. Long, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Arrow Electronics. “As we continue to advance our complete sensor-to-sunset strategy, Steven will be a valuable addition to our board.” “During his tenure on the board, John has served as a trusted advisor to me and the company. Prior to that, he had a 30-year career with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a leading business strategy consulting services firm. While at BCG, Mr. Gunby’s roles included global leader, transformation, and chairman, North and South America. He also held other major managerial roles in his capacity as a senior partner and managing director and serving as a member of BCG’s Executive Committee.
