The DXC Legal Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) team, led by Emma Johnston (DXC Legal Region Lead) and Nick Boymal (UnitedLex Region Lead), includes 32 lawyers and contract professionals in six cities. “I am especially proud of the digital transformation that DXC Legal ANZ has achieved this year,” said DXC Executive Vice President and General Counsel Bill Deckelman. “We are honored that the Association of Corporate Counsel selected DXC Legal for this award from among ACC’s prestigious membership of corporate legal organizations.”The ACC Australia judges noted DXC’s progress on digital transformation and the ANZ team’s achievements in delivering value to the business, creating a proprietary contracting tool called FastTrack, supporting an innovative digital learning and professional development program, and nurturing teamwork across Australia and worldwide.Beginning in 2017 and again in 2018, DXC’s commercial lawyers and contract managers were moved to UnitedLex under the legal industry’s largest managed services transaction in history. Under this operating model, UnitedLex provides all legal transaction support and contract management services to DXC through dedicated UnitedLex legal professionals who work seamlessly with DXC Legal. The model’s success won DXC the Financial Times 2018 Innovative Lawyers Award in the United States. It also negates the traditional assumption that transformation is something that happens to all business units except for legal.

Australia and New Zealand Data Protection as a Service Markets, 2018 & 2019-2027

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 14 novembre 2019

The Australia and New Zealand data protection as a service market accounted for US$ 159.2 Mn in 2018 and is expected to reach US$ 2244.8 Mn by 2027, thereby registering an attractive CAGR growth rate of 34.3% from 2019 to 2027.Factors such as stringent data protection regulations for information security and increasing need for data backups and archives are propelling the growth of data protection as a service market. However, High incurrence of costs of data protection service is hindering the data protection as a service market growth to a certain extent. Globally, organizations are investing in advanced technologies and solutions to upgrade businesses. They are driven by the factors which include growing new data streams, increase the need for storage, flexible IT consumption models, rising cyber security threats & compliance, among others. With the exponential data growth in the organization and deployment of advanced technology, there is a requirement of the data backup systems. Also, for every data record or object created in the organization, it needs a backup system for operational data loss prevention, archiving for long term retention to ensure regulatory compliance, disaster recovery, and remote applications for business continuity. Therefore, in the organization, there is a continuous requirement for the data backups and archives, as the data loss can lead to revenue loss, lawsuits, privacy violations, and other setbacks. The implementation of data protection as a service would support organizations for data backup and archives, and it offers a unified approach to data protection and fast recovery & agile restoration.
Convergence is one of the key aspects that has developed the DPaaS industry. It comprises the software-defined storage, networking services, hardware abstraction, central orchestration, as well as, geographically distributed architecture that deliver the IT infrastructure, and make it effective and agile. Further, for data backup and archive, data protection as a service can scale data integrity as well as retention of data for long periods, and this is important for the current organization for the protection of data. This is highly influencing the growth of data protection as a service market.

Australia Post Delivers IT Operations Enhancements with Snow Software

Posted by fidest press agency su sabato, 31 agosto 2019

Snow Software, the global leader in technology intelligence solutions, today announced that Australia Post is using the Snow platform to optimize IT operations, gain insight into its technology ecosystem and manage application sprawl. As the organization responsible for delivering over 3 billion items and managing more than 4,000 post offices nationally, Australia Post has a government mandate to deliver quality service while also earning a profit. This requires Australia Post to run its IT ecosystem as effectively and efficiently as possible in order to support the operation at scale. The World Economic Forum estimates that by 2020, there will be 40 zettabytes worth of data created around the globe. The ability to collect, analyze and understand vast amounts of data is a vital part of doing business, yet it has become increasingly complex for enterprises. Australia Post has partnered with Snow to gain a deep understanding of their IT ecosystem – from high-level technology asset trends at their post offices and delivery centers to the granular details of which versions of operating systems are in use across the entire organization. With this visibility, Australia Post can redistribute assets based on usage, address technology anomalies and ensure maximum value from technology investments. “This latest partnership will give us greater insight into the performance of our software, hardware and applications assets,” said Matt Whykes, Manager of IT Billing and Finance at Australia Post. “Like many other IT departments, time is always of the essence, and Snow’s rapid turnaround with their in-depth reports means we save time and gain greater insight from that data. We’ve already begun using Snow to manage technology assets in circulation. For example, we’re able to identify idle laptops and have them redistributed to areas in need, and the accuracy of our laptop and desktop fleet data has increased from 40% to 95%. Snow’s intelligence helps us understand and manage the relationship between user, application and the device. The partnership means we can now recognize and meter well over 8,000 cloud/SaaS applications, which is a real gain for Australia Post.” “Today’s public sector organizations face a variety of challenges including the migration and optimization of the cloud, implementation of data privacy measures, control of technology sprawl and the ability to ensure efficient IT spend,” said Ken Schock, Chief Revenue Officer at Snow. “Without accurate intelligence around their technology ecosystems, CIOs and IT teams are unable to contribute to strategic business opportunities, and instead are forced into reactively deal with unanticipated technical issues. Snow empowers IT leaders with the insights needed to put the focus back into the growth and success of the business.”

L’emigrante: storie di vita vissuta. Il viaggio in Australia

Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 27 agosto 2019

(Riccardo Alfonso)

Australia’s reigning Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series champion remains

Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 14 Mag 2019

unbeaten while Dublin’s record weekend crowd of 145,000 witnessed the first-ever Romanian winner. With a dominant 30-point win Australia’s Rhiannan Iffland was the pinnacle of perfection in the women’s competition when the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series debuted in Ireland’s Dún Laoghaire Harbour. Canada’s Lysanne Richard took her second podium this season while Adriana Jimenez of Mexico completed the top three. Constantin Popovici, Olympic diver from Romania, earned the top score from the jury and put an end to Gary Hunt’s (GBR) winning streak from the 27m platform in one of the closest results to date. America’s David Colturi placed third in an event held with an adjusted format due to cold water. It was the immaculate execution of his final round dive, an inward 4 somersault half twist pike, that earned the 30-year-old his first ever 10, the highest possible score, in the World Series, becoming the 14th man to win an event. Following the Romanian’s second place at the season opener in the Philippines, World Series record winner Gary Hunt expects a very tight race for the 2019 King Kahekili Trophy. The ‘brilliant Brit’ fell short of his 36th win today by just 1.85 points, however he distanced himself from Colturi in third place by 78.6 points in the chilly conditions in Dublin Bay.From the 21m platform in the women’s category, 27-year-old Iffland extended her five point day one lead over her nearest rival from Canada to create a little piece of history. Tilray® Announces Support of Two New Clinical Research Studies in Australia and Canada

Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 3 aprile 2019

Tilray, Inc. (NASDAQ:TLRY), a global leader in cannabis research and production, today announced its support of two new clinical studies: a pilot study led by Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) in Melbourne, to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a larger randomized placebo-controlled trial of cannabis extract as a form of treatment for reducing Severe Behavioral Problems (SBP) in pediatric patients with Intellectual Disabilities (ID); and a study with McGill University Health Centre’s Division of Infectious Diseases and Chronic Viral Illness, to examine the effectiveness of medical cannabis on immune activation in People Living with HIV.“Tilray is at the forefront of clinical research in the medical cannabis field and we’re very proud to support two groundbreaking studies that have potential to identify more indications in which medical cannabis can benefit patients in-need,” says Philippe Lucas, VP of Global Patient Research and Access, Tilray. “We are committed to advancing cannabinoid-based science to further understand the potential benefits of medical cannabis as a treatment option among these critical patient populations. There is a serious need for more clinical data in our field, and we are proud to support research like this around the world.”Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Australia:Over 50,000 youth in Australia today have Intellectual Disability with Severe Behavioral Problems such as irritability, aggression, and self-injury. Anti-psychotic and other psychotropic medications are prescribed for half of these patients in Australia, despite limited evidence for their efficacy and a high risk of serious side-effects, including weight gain, metabolic syndrome and extrapyramidal movement disorders. Polypharmacy and off-label prescribing are common in these patients, and drugs are sometimes added to treat side effects. Novel interventions are urgently needed for this highly vulnerable patient group. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians have highlighted the need for further research into the therapeutic uses of cannabinoids in youth. There is intense interest from parents and physicians in medical cannabis as a treatment for SBP in youth with ID. Research to date suggests that CBD and other cannabis extracts, have had fewer reported side-effects than anti-psychotic medications; however, there is currently insufficient evidence to inform its use in treating SBP. MCRI is among the first institutions to conduct research specifically testing the effectiveness of CBD on patients with intellectual disabilities to reduce severe behavioral problems.
