Autodoc invests millions in new warehouse in Szczecin

Posted by fidest press agency su venerdì, 2 ottobre 2020

AUTODOC, Europe’s leading online retailer of car parts, accessories and equipment, opened its latest logistics centre in Szczecin. With the new building “M13” in Szczecin, AUTODOC is doubling its storage space in Szczecin to 26,700 square metres. Up to 800 jobs will be created in the new semi-automatically operated warehouse. At the opening ceremony of the facility, AUTODOC boss Alexej Erdle stated that despite the coronavirus crisis, the company urgently requires the additional capacity. AUTODOC was founded twelve years ago in Berlin and has enjoyed continuous growth. In 2019, AUTODOC increased its sales by 48 percent to almost 615 million euros. The company plans to continue to pursue an ambitious growth strategy in the coming years. With the new warehouse, AUTODOC continues its four-year success story in Szczecin. In 2018 AUTODOC opened its local reloading point for car parts, accessories and consumer goods by the A6 motorway in the district of Zalom-Kasztanowe. By now, almost 1600 employees and contract workers work at this location. Almost 75,000 products are unpacked and repacked, addressed and shipped to end customers every day. However, the handling capacity of the new warehouse will be significantly higher thanks to semi-automated processes. In future, AUTODOC’s handling will increase from 25,000 daily orders to as many as 61,000 orders. The Szczecin site has clearly established itself as AUTODOC’s most important logistics location with total investments of around 11.0 million euros since its launch. While the company continues to operate a warehouse in the Berlin district of Lichtenberg, maximum capacities have been reached at this location due to a lack of expansion space. AUTODOC requires the warehouses to be able to deliver goods ordered online in the shortest possible time to customers. The company mainly relies on “on-demand” delivery. Products ordered online are delivered to AUTODOC by the manufacturers and then sent on to the customer almost immediately. With its broad range of 2.5 million products, low prices, above-average customer service and fast delivery, AUTODOC takes a growing share of the market from the brick-and-mortar car parts trade. AUTODOC is currently looking for new employees in both Szczecin and Berlin to meet the continuing strong growth in demand. “We currently have many vacancies,” said Erdle. He particularly pointed to the fairly tight labour market in Szczecin, which has turned into a popular logistics location. The multinational workforce in the warehouses often works in teams organised according to their native languages. Ten nations are represented in Szczecin and the employees enjoy a good rate of pay, a number of bonus systems, private health insurance and care as well as free transport to and from the city centre of Szczecin.

Autodoc, benchmark in online sales of automotive spare parts in Europe, is launching its “Autodoc Plus” discount programme for regular customers. Customers who purchase car parts frequently from Autodoc will be able to reserve additional premium options at reduced prices, have their order prioritised and secure additional discounts on delivery costs and products. Autodoc Plus memberships can be reserved in three price categories, each with graduated benefits to customers. The idea behind this originated with customers’ inquiries regarding a benefits programme for frequent customers. The Autodoc Plus discount programme is part of the company’s constant effort to continually improve the customer’s experience. The launch of the “Autodoc Club” platform at the end of 2019 is part of this, alongside the expansion of the product range and improving the shop websites. This enhances the range on offer with digital advice. Autodoc Plus is expanding the range with additional benefits by means of premium features for active customers. Basic members receive a 20% discount on the “Secure Order” option, priority status for their orders and notification of which items are ready for rapid dispatch. Optimum customers have the discount increased to 35% and in addition receive twice the bonus credits in the parts dealer’s loyalty programme. For the highest level of Professional, the discount on Secure Order rises to 50%, and in addition to the abovementioned benefits there is a 30% discount on dispatch costs and a minimum discount of 20% on items in the online shop. Payment terms are either monthly or annually. Autodoc Plus is offered across Europe in almost all markets, with the exception of the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland. Autodoc Plus is already available on the desktop website and will soon come up on the mobile version. Customer inquiries will correspondingly be provided in the Autodoc App in the medium term.

Autodoc continues strong growth

Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 6 Maggio 2020

Autodoc GmbH, benchmark in online sales of automotive spare parts in Europe, posted sales revenue of 165.5 million euros in the first quarter of 2020 (Q1 2019: 127.0 million euros). This corresponds to a rise in turnover of 30% compared with the same period a year earlier. Over the first three months, the product range was expanded and new and innovative customer solutions were introduced. Both aspects continue to form the main components of the growth strategy that the company plans to implement consistently over 2020. Established in 2008, the e-commerce retailer is profiting from its online-first strategy. The flexibility provided by a lean corporate structure without physical outlets, along with the pan-European approach have allowed the Berlin-based company to largely escape therestrictions currently imposed on fixed-outlet sales. Long-term growth through comprehensive range. The company’s long-term growth is based on the determined implementation of their growth strategy: This includes, first and foremost, the comprehensive product range of currently 2.5 million items. Autodoc thus offers its customers a comprehensive and growing range of car parts that everyone can afford. The associated services are being extended as well: Over the recent past these have included the launch of the “Autodoc Club” platform in the last quarter of 2019, along with the accompanying mobile app in February 2020. On this platform, Autodoc has bundled its digital services. At its core is a library of more than 2,500 video and PDF tutorials aimed at assisting customers with simple repairs to their own cars. The mobile app expands and complements the scope of functions on the online platform with a personal digital service logbook. Alongside the tutorials from the library, this includes, for example, the option of to track consumption of fuel and
other consumables. For 2020 as a whole, Autodoc plans to continue its growth by means of innovation and further optimisation of operational processes.
