Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 3 aprile 2013

London, PRNewswire Take advantage of warm temperatures in the Middle East and North Africa with tempting holiday offers from the long haul specialist. With spring well underway, sun-starved Brits are still awaiting the first signs of the changing season as wintery weather continues to dominate in the UK. After a long winter punctuated by several snow flurries that brought the nation to a halt, chilly travellers can be forgiven for wanting to get away from the freezing conditions for a few days. With this in mind, Hayes and Jarvis are pleased to reveal a selection of tempting offers on mid-haul holidays to Dubai, Egypt and Abu Dhabi, perfect for beating those winter blues. Not only are these destinations virtually guaranteed to enjoy great weather, they are, at most, just a seven hour flight from the UK, meaning a swift transition from rain and bitter wind, to balmy temperatures and cocktails by the pool or beach. Egypt is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations and is renowned for its wealth of historical treasures just waiting to be explored. From ancient ruins in Luxor to the pyramids and the river Nile, culture vultures are spoiled for choice here. Egypt is equally adept however as a luxury holiday location and the Ritz-Carlton in Sharm El Sheikh exemplifies five star treatment with five restaurants, three bars, five pools, sports facilities and a wellness centre. Stay here with Hayes and Jarvis for seven nights on a bed and breakfast basis from just £499 per person, saving up to £730 per couple. This offer includes a 50% accommodation discount. Flights depart on 21 April 2013 from Manchester. Abu Dhabi is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, arguably the Middle East’s most popular destination with holiday makers, and although it may have been overshadowed by its sister city Dubai until recently, Abu Dhabi has become more than a worthy rival to the UAE’s second city. Beautiful Gulf Coast beaches give way to a pristine cityscape that fuses traditional souks with ultra modern malls. Stay here for seven nights at the Beach Rotana Hotel and Towers on a bed and breakfast basis from just £749 per person, saving up to £276 per couple. Flights depart on 16 May 2013 from London Heathrow.
Dubai needs little introduction, this glistening metropolis rising from the desert offers the best of both city living and beach culture. Explore the vast malls, water parks and marvel at the Burj Khalifa, or just relax on the beach and soak up some sun. The Ocean View Hotel makes for a great base, and Hayes and Jarvis are delighted to offer complimentary half board here on a three night stay from just £699 per person, saving up to £394 per couple. Flights depart from London Gatwick on 22 April 2013.

Dubai, UAE The centerpiece of Downtown Dubai, Burj Khalifa was fully illuminated in shimmering white, red and green hues, drawing on the colours of the UAE national flag, through the fireworks display. The celebrations were also a salute to the nation, which celebrated its 40th National Day, on December 2, 2011. Mr. Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director, Emaar Properties, said: “The New Year’s Celebrations 2012 is our tribute to the cosmopolitan spirit of Dubai. The spectacle has reiterated this city’s position as one of the most sought-after destinations for New Year’s celebrations.” The celebrations were telecast live to over 2 billion homes globally, putting the spotlight on Dubai and Downtown Dubai, the 500-acre flagship development of Emaar Properties. Befitting its description as ‘The Centre of Now,’ Downtown Dubai was a sea of humanity with hundreds of thousands of visitors – both residents and tourists specially flying in for the celebrations. The celebrations flagged off with the music-dance performances of The Dubai Fountain. Several firework displays across Downtown Dubai added to the excitement. A countdown was beamed on big-size screens located across Downtown Dubai one minute ahead of the New Year. With ten seconds to go for 2012, for every second, a firework display was made from Burj Khalifa, followed by the grand finale fireworks spectacle which began from the top of the spire of Burj Khalifa at a height of 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), progressing downward to the base. The fireworks display also marked the second anniversary of the grand inauguration of Burj Khalifa. The fireworks were choreographed to a specially composed musical composition that integrated Arabic and World Music notes. Following the fireworks, the celebrations shifted to Burj Park, with the live performance of Deep Forest, and solo violinist Diana Yukawa. Downtown Dubai’s attractions include At the Top, Burj Khalifa, the world’s highest observation deck with an outdoor terrace; The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination; The Dubai Fountain; world-class residences; commercial offices and the Emaar Boulevard, a 3.5 km boulevard lined with retail and F&B attractions.

Dubai, UAE, Dubai resident Scott Ragsdale is now within touching distance of successfully completing naseba seven – so named because it entails seven iron-distance triathlons across the seven Emirates of the UAE in seven consecutive days. Today he is in Dubai, where he has lived for the past five years. The penultimate day of the challenge started at 7.00am; with Scott swimming the required 3.8 km in the ocean adjacent to the Union House flagpole that commemorates the birthplace of the UAE. On December 2nd 1971 the rulers of all seven Emirates met inside this house to sign the declaration that brought into effect a temporary constitution – and established the independent state of the United Arab Emirates. During the course of today he’ll pass local landmarks the World Islands, Burj Khalifa and Safa Park, amongst others. He’ll finish today’s leg of naseba seven at the offices of his company in Dubai Media City.Having successfully swam across the English Channel last year, the UAE was selected as the venue of this year’s challenge due to Ragsdale’s affinity to the country, and in honour of the Emirates 40th anniversary – which coincides with the American’s 40th birthday. “I love every bit of the UAE and thought, why can’t we put something together here? That’s how naseba seven was born, out of personal ambition, the type of ambition I’m seeking to inspire into others by completing the seven iron-distance triathlons,” he explained. In fact, naseba seven has been officially incorporated in to the 40th UAE National Day celebrations programme – as well as being endorsed by the country’s leading body for all sporting and youth-related activities, the UAE General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare. It has also received support from many UAE bodies, including the Abu Dhabi Municipality and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.Right from the start its theme has been “but I have to make it happen…” and its aim is to prove that anyone can achieve something exceptional, if the appropriate focus, preparation and determination are applied. Ragsdale continued: “There are lots of [so called] average people out there doing exceptional things. I am nobody special, trying to do something physically special. Ideally, people who hear about my challenge will reflect on themselves; reflect on their own goals and dreams. A dream or goal means nothing if you don’t make the necessary preparation and effort and go after it.” Tomorrow’s finale takes place in Abu Dhabi, with the climax being hosted at its picturesque corniche. It will see the UAE General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, the Abu Dhabi Municipality and both the Abu Dhabi and Dubai Sports Council joining Scott to celebrate his unique accomplishment.
“I wanted to prove to myself I can be consistent and focused enough to make this happen – and ideally through my actions I will inspire those around me,” he remarked.
