Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and its U.S. subsidiary Promius Pharma announce the filing of an NDA for its migraine candidate

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 5 aprile 2018

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BSE: 500124, NSE: DRREDDY, NYSE: RDY) and its subsidiary, Promius Pharma, LLC today announced the filing of New Drug Application (NDA) for its migraine candidate DFN-02 with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).
According to Dr. Anil Namboodiripad, Senior Vice President, Proprietary Products and President, Promius Pharma, the NDA for DFN-02 is an important step forward in the company’s mission to bring solutions that address unmet needs.“The filing of DFN-02 NDA represents our continuing commitment to bring innovative solutions in migraine treatment,” explains Dr. Namboodiripad. “Acute migraine attacks are typically associated with pain and symptoms, such as nausea, photophobia, and phonophobia. It is important that an effective migraine treatment helps address associated symptoms. Equally important is having a well-tolerated treatment that provides patients a satisfactory resolution of their migraine attack.”In a multicenter, double-blind, randomized, placebo controlled study with 107 subjects ( # NCT02856802), DFN-02 has demonstrated that it can effectively treat pain and associated symptoms during a migraine attack and reduce attack-related functional disability. Data from this study show that there was a significantly higher proportion of subjects who experienced 2-hour pain freedom with DFN-02 compared with placebo: 43.8% (n=48) versus 22.5% (n=40), p<.05). DFN-02 was also significantly better than placebo at alleviating the patients’ most bothersome symptom (MBS), including nausea, photophobia, and phonophobia (70.7% versus 39.5% MBS free at 2 hours postdose; p<.01. DFN-02 was well tolerated, with the following Treatment-Emergent Adverse Events: dysgeusia (n = 4), application site pain (n = 2), chest discomfort, burning sensation, rhinorrhea and malaise (n = 1 each), all mild to moderate. Upon approval, the product will be commercialized by Promius Pharma.

Concert Pharmaceuticals Announces Advancement of Novel Drug Candidate in Schizophrenia

Posted by fidest press agency su domenica, 4 marzo 2018

Concert Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNCE) today announced the next development candidate in its product pipeline with the selection of CTP-692, a novel drug for adjunctive treatment of schizophrenia, a devastating, chronic illness with significant unmet need. CTP-692 is a deuterated form of D-serine, an endogenous, required co-agonist of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. NMDA receptor hypofunction is believed to contribute to the pathophysiology of schizophrenia and enhancement of D-serine levels is believed to benefit individuals with schizophrenia. CTP-692 is being developed as a potential adjunctive therapy to antipsychotic medicines with the potential to improve positive and negative symptoms as well as cognitive function in these patients. The Company intends to complete preclinical evaluation and advance CTP-692 into clinical development by year-end 2018.“We see neuropsychiatry as an area in which our team is well-positioned to broaden and expand our pipeline and apply our deuterium chemistry technology to create innovative medicines with differentiated therapeutic properties,” said Roger Tung, Ph.D., President and CEO of Concert Pharmaceuticals. “Our newest development candidate, CTP-692, represents an exciting opportunity to improve upon the existing standard-of-care with the potential to make a meaningful difference for patients with schizophrenia.”Despite its therapeutic potential as an adjunctive antipsychotic medication, the development of D-serine has been limited by safety concerns. D-serine has been shown to cause nephrotoxicity in preclinical testing. In addition, laboratory findings suggesting a possible renal safety signal were observed in some patients who received D-serine in clinical studies.CTP-692 has the potential to improve the safety profile of D-serine. In preclinical evaluation, Concert found that selective deuterium modification increased D-serine exposure and substantially reduced evidence of renal impairment. As a result, the Company believes that it can explore a wider exposure range to achieve optimal therapeutic levels in the clinic with a much lower risk of renal toxicity. These results support the further advancement of CTP-692.

Letter to editor from Barack Obama

Posted by fidest press agency su domenica, 19 dicembre 2010

Riccardo. Moments ago, the Senate voted to end “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” When that bill reaches my desk, I will sign it, and this discriminatory law will be repealed. Gay and lesbian service members — brave Americans who enable our freedoms — will no longer have to hide who they are. The fight for civil rights, a struggle that continues, will no longer include this one. This victory belongs to you. Without your commitment, the promise I made as a candidate would have remained just that.
Instead, you helped prove again that no one should underestimate this movement. Every phone call to a senator on the fence, every letter to the editor in a local paper, and every message in a congressional inbox makes it clear to those who would stand in the way of justice: We will not quit. This victory also belongs to Senator Harry Reid, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and our many allies in Congress who refused to let politics get in the way of what was right. Like you, they never gave up, and I want them to know how grateful we are for that commitment. s Commander in Chief, I fought to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” because it weakens our national security and military readiness. It violates the fundamental American principles of equality and fairness. But this victory is also personal. I will never know what it feels like to be discriminated against because of my sexual orientation. But I know my story would not be possible without the sacrifice and struggle of those who came before me — many I will never meet, and can never thank. I know this repeal is a crucial step for civil rights, and that it strengthens our military and national security. I know it is the right thing to do. But the rightness of our cause does not guarantee success, and today, celebration of this historic step forward is tempered by the defeat of another — the DREAM Act. I am incredibly disappointed that a minority of senators refused to move forward on this important, commonsense reform that most Americans understand is the right thing for our country. On this issue, our work must continue. Today, I’m proud that we took these fights on. (Barack Obama)

The end of the American combat in Iraq

Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 1 settembre 2010

As a candidate for this office, I pledged to end this war responsibly. And, as President, that is what I am doing. Since I became Commander-in-Chief, we’ve brought home nearly 100,000 U.S. troops. We’ve closed or turned over to Iraq hundreds of our bases. As Operation Iraqi Freedom ends, our commitment to a sovereign, stable, and self-reliant Iraq continues. Under Operation New Dawn, a transitional force of U.S. troops will remain to advise and assist Iraqi forces, protect our civilians on the ground, and pursue targeted counterterrorism efforts. By the end of next year, consistent with our agreement with the Iraqi government, these men and women, too, will come home.
Ending this war is not only in Iraq’s interest — it is in our own. Our nation has paid a huge price to put Iraq’s future in the hands of its people. We have sent our men and women in uniform to make enormous sacrifices. We have spent vast resources abroad in the face of several years of recession at home. We have met our responsibility through the courage and resolve of our women and men in uniform. In seven years, they confronted a mission as challenging and as complex as any our military has ever been asked to face. Nearly 1.5 million Americans put their lives on the line. Many returned for multiple tours of duty, far from their loved ones who bore a heroic burden of their own. And most painfully, more than 4,400 Americans have given their lives, fighting for people they never knew, for values that have defined our people for more than two centuries. What their country asked of them was not small. And what they sacrificed was not easy. For that, each and every American owes them our heartfelt thanks. Our promise to them — to each woman or man who has donned our colors — is that our country will serve them as faithfully as they have served us. We have already made the largest increase in funding for veterans in decades. So long as I am President, I will do whatever it takes to fulfill that sacred trust. Tonight, we mark a milestone in our nation’s history. Even at a time of great uncertainty for so many Americans, this day and our brave troops remind us that our future is in our own hands and that our best days lie ahead. (Barack Obama)

Com’è cambiata la bellezza?

Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 1 settembre 2010

Miss Italia: 230 prefinaliste verso Salsomaggiore

Posted by fidest press agency su sabato, 31 luglio 2010

E le miss si godono il lago…

Posted by fidest press agency su domenica, 19 aprile 2009

Orta San Giulio.
