Advanced Drainage Systems Announces New Executive Vice President, Supply Chain

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (NYSE: WMS) (“ADS” or the “Company”), a leading global manufacturer of water management products and solutions for commercial, residential, infrastructure and agricultural applications, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Darin Harvey as Executive Vice President, Supply Chain. He will lead the Company’s manufacturing, logistics, procurement and supply chain planning, effective October 15, 2018.
Mr. Harvey brings over 20 years of experience in leading complex global supply chains, delivering results in continuous improvement, driving lean manufacturing and delivering change management. He most recently served as Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain at Forum Energy Technologies, Inc., a Houston, TX-based company that designs, manufactures and distributes equipment and solutions for the oil and gas industry. While there, Darin successfully established a proven track record of driving strong operational performance by restructuring the organization to develop and deploy an integrated supply chain strategy and working to integrate over 50 acquisitions.Scott Barbour, President and Chief Executive Officer commented, “We are excited to have Darin join the leadership team at ADS. Darin’s experience, leadership style and skill set align well with our culture and strategies to drive growth and operational excellence. Prior to Mr. Harvey’s role at Forum, he held global supply chain leadership positions at Honeywell, Foster Wheeler and Danaher Corporation. He holds an MBA in Global Supply Chain from the University of Tennessee and a BS in Marketing and Supply Chain Management from Florida State University. He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Expert. Mr. Harvey will be based in the Company’s Hilliard, OH office.

Boot Barn Holdings, Inc. Acquires Two-Store Boot Chain in Tulsa

Boot Barn Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:BOOT) acquired certain assets of Drysdales, Inc. (“Drysdales”), a retailer with two stores in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As part of the transaction, Boot Barn purchased inventory and offered employment to the Drysdales team at both store locations. Boot Barn funded the acquisition from cash on hand.Jim Conroy, Chief Executive Officer, commented, “Tulsa is a market that is core to the western and workwear industry and Drysdales is the market leader. Drysdales opened its first store in 1981 and has successfully operated its business for more than 35 years. As we looked to expand into Tulsa, the opportunity to acquire these stores and their experienced team of associates was very compelling. Under the leadership of Jim McClure, these stores have successfully served the needs of the western and work customers in this area. We are looking forward to the opportunity to continue to grow the business and further expand the Boot Barn presence in Oklahoma.”

Primo Euro-Med Hackathon dedicato al tema “Eco-Efficiency in Agro-Food Chain”

ammanAmman, in Giordania, il 14 e 15 Dicembre 2016 il primo Euro-Med Hackathon dedicato al tema “Eco-Efficiency in Agro-Food Chain”, l’eco-efficienza nella filiera agroalimentare: una maratona di giovani innovatori che potranno presentare ad una giuria di esperti progetti innovativi da sviluppare e lanciare sul mercato.Nell’ambito del Progetto “MedSpring” (Mediterranean Science Policy Research and Innovation Gateway), l’Euro-Med Hackathon è coordinato dallo IAMB Ciheam (l’Istituto Agronomico Mediterraneo di Bari, sede italiana dell’Organizzazione internazionale Centre International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Méditerranéennes) e finalizzato alla cooperazione Euro-Mediterranea per la ricerca ed innovazione, rivolte in particolare alle 3 “sfide sociali”: acqua, alimentazione ed energia. Sfide e valori condivisi a pieno da Seeds&Chips, the Global Food Innovation Summit, insieme al continuo sostegno ai giovani che in tutto il Mondo creano e sperimentano nuovi modelli di sviluppo sostenibile.
In programma: una 2-giorni di Hackathon, dove 30 giovani innovatori provenienti da 10 Paesi del Mediterraneo – Algeria, Egitto, Francia, Giordania, Grecia, Iraq, Marocco, Palestina, Tunisia e Turchia- si sfideranno a colpi di idee innovative. I progetti presentati affrontano temi differenti: dall’agricoltura di precisione, al vertical farming; da soluzioni di social farming per i campi dei rifugiati in Palestina a soluzioni per l’efficientamento dell’utilizzo dell’acqua.La maratona proclamerà 3 vincitori, che avranno l’opportunità di prendere parte alla terza edizione di Seeds&Chips, a Milano dall’8 all’11 Maggio 2017: un’importante occasione di visibilità per questi giovani che potranno incontrare investitori, aziende internazionali, Università e Centri di ricerca di tutto il mondo.
