Julien’s Auctions presents an exceptional and massive collection of Walter Becker, the famed Steely Dan co-founder, co-songwriter, bassist, producer and guitarist’s stage-played and recorded guitars as well as amplifiers, speakers, recording gear and ephemera. Highlights of the jazz rock legend’s exhibition and auction include Becker’s original signature model #1 Sadowsky guitar and one of his earlier acquired, stage played and favorite 1993 two color cherry sunburst S Style Sadowsky, a fine hand built early example of a 1936 John D’Angelico Excel model archtop guitar, a rare Senorita S.6 model guitar manufactured briefly in the mid 1930s by Bacon Banjo, a 1957 Fender Duo-Sonic electric, used (or appears) in the liner notes to Steely Dan’s iconic 1977 album Aja, a double cutaway strat-style Hahn model 229 guitar, a converted 1953 Gibson Les Paul guitar used on tour and at sound checks, a 1955 Gibson ES-5 archtop electric guitar and more.

Highlights of the auction included the “Smokey and the Bandit” Trans Am car which sold for $450,000, Reynolds’ Smokey and the Bandit jacket which sold for $34,375, the canoe made for the movie “Deliverance” sold for $17,500, a pair of “Bandit” Burt Reynolds cowboy boots sold for $20,000, a “Stroker Ace” jacket and promotional shirt sold for $9,375, a “ Smokey and the Bandit” Western shirt sold for $15,625, the Burt Reynolds “Top Box Office Star of the Year” Award sold for $5,312, the “Smokey and the Bandit” Go-Kart sold for $13,750, a Burt Reynolds “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” badge sold for $5,000, Burt Reynolds football trophy sold for $$1,875, a group of Burt Reynolds police badges which sold for $3,750, Burt Reynolds’ license plate sold for $5,937and the Burt Reynolds owned Bobby Goldsboro Hascal Haile guitar sold for $10,000.Other highlights included the 18K Gold Pocket Watch gifted to Burt Reynolds by Sally Field which sold for $13,750, Burt Reynolds’ 1998 Golden Globe Award sold for $21,250, his 1990-1991 Emmy Award sold for $28,125 and his 1983 People’s Choice Award sold for $10,625.
