Oklahoma Specialty Hospital Selects the Evident Thrive EHR System

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 2 Mag 2019

Evident LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of CPSI (NASDAQ: CPSI) and a leading provider of electronic health record (EHR) systems and services, announced today that Oklahoma Spine Hospital, a specialty surgical hospital located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has selected the cloud-hosted Thrive EHR solution to replace their existing system through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) payment model. They are expected to be live on Thrive by the fourth quarter of 2019.Oklahoma Spine Hospital started an EHR selection process when they were informed that their current vendor’s EHR was not certified to meet the requirements of the Promoting Interoperability Program. In order to meet their goal of attesting to CMS for the 2019 reporting period, they knew they had to explore other options. Once the search began, the team from Oklahoma Spine Hospital realized quickly that Evident was a good fit for them. The Evident Thrive solution will provide Oklahoma Spine Hospital with a level of external and internal interoperability they do not have, allowing providers to focus more on the patient and less on paperwork. Additionally, Evident’s proven track record with Oklahoma Spine Hospital’s sister facility, Black Hills Surgical Hospital, gave credibility to the Thrive EHR solution and the team from Evident.“While finding a certified EHR that would allow us to meet the 2019 reporting year requirements for the Promoting Interoperability Program instigated our search, we are gaining much more than that with Evident,” said Gary McCool, technology director of Oklahoma Spine Hospital. “We believe the functionality of the Thrive EHR will also lead to higher levels of patient satisfaction.” McCool added, “The deciding factor for us was being able to see the success that a similar specialty hospital is experiencing using Thrive. We are very happy with our decision and look forward to partnering with Evident for a long time to come.”

Phoenix Health Systems Ranked First by Black Book Research for Comprehensive Hospital IT Outsourcing

Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 4 ottobre 2017

Phoenix Health Systems, the leading independent provider of hospital IT outsourcing and consulting services, has been recognized by market and public opinion research firm Black Book Research as first among the top 20 non-EHR centric hospital IT outsourcing companies. From a field of 68 qualified IT outsourcing organizations, Phoenix Health is one of only seven vendors who were recognized for “exceeding expectations” on all 18 Black Book key performance indicators. For Black Book’s 2017 survey, the company polled 1,587 users of IT outsourcing solutions, including 807 hospital CIOs and IT leaders, as well as 89 CFOs, to assess their confidence in partnering with outside IT support contractors and determine which partners they found the most professional and reliable.
“We are honored and humbled to be recognized by such a prestigious organization, especially given Black Book’s reputation for impartiality and data-driven assessment,” said Ronald L. Gue, Ph.D., president of Phoenix Health. “As Black Book says, engaging firms with insufficient healthcare experience or knowledge of industry issues is risky, which is why our fundamental concern is eliminating risk for our clients. At their core, the Black Book rankings are recognition of how professional and knowledgeable the Phoenix Health team is, and I’m grateful every day for how good they are. This confirmation that our clients also recognize our hard work is especially satisfying and inspiring.” Recognizing that “Movement toward patient-centric and value-based approaches is fueling the growth of infrastructure outsourcing,” the Black Book survey noted that shifts among healthcare organizations to ‘as-a-service’ infrastructure models has left many less than satisfied with their outsourcing experience. The strongest contributor to dissatisfaction came from the 77 percent of organizations that used vendors with limited experience in healthcare IT outsourcing. This dip in satisfaction has not, however, reduced outsourcing; around 82 percent of hospitals—“a record number,” per Black Book—have either signed IT outsourcing contracts since mid-2016 or are currently considering an outsourcing vendor, illustrating the current complexity of the healthcare IT marketplace and the need for proven, seasoned partners.Black Book also says that 83 percent of providers with more than 100 beds have made complex IT outsourcing a priority this year, and 34 percent plan to increase IT outsourcing over the next two years; in both cases, return on investment and immediate access to trained staff and needed technology are the primary motivators.

African Partnerships for Patient Safety (APPS) has launched the second wave of Europe-to-Africa hospital partnerships to improve patient safety in five countries. APPS proposes a unique partnership model translating policy into action to improve patient safety in hospitals in the African region. Hospitals in Africa are teamed up with counterparts in Europe to allow the sharing of tools, processes and learning based on three core objectives: partnership strength, hospital patient safety improvements, and patient safety spread. Building on the success of the “first wave” of partnerships established by APPS in 2009, new partnerships between hospitals in Africa and the UK are being launched in a “second wave”. Representatives of the five partnerships between UK and African hospitals (in Ghana, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia) met at WHO Headquarters this week to kick off their new partnerships and to establish work plans to improve patient safety in their respective hospitals and further afield.

Serata in favore della vita

Posted by fidest press agency su lunedì, 20 dicembre 2010

(Paolo Dominici)

The creation of a University Hospital Institute

Posted by fidest press agency su domenica, 23 Mag 2010

Nantes. With support from Nantes Métropole urban council and the Pays de la Loire Regional Council, Nantes University Hospital and the University of Nantes have joined forces to push for the creation of a University Hospital Institute (Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire, IHU) provisionally entitled the “European Centre for Transplantation Sciences and Immunotherapy”. The French government is to set up a total of 5 IHUs, following a rigorous tendering process. The institutes will be funded from the proceeds of the country’s National Bond Scheme. Over the last 10 years, the city of Nantes’ healthcare cluster has forged a reputation as one of the best in France. It is gaining an international reputation in many fields (including immunology, transplantation, oncology, cardiology, gastroenterology, human nutrition, cell & gene therapy and biomaterials). The cluster constitutes a key element in the Pays de la Loire region’s economic attractiveness and is a driving force for regional research efforts. Its success is based on close collaboration between Nantes University Hospital, the INSERM national medical research institute, the University of Nantes, other research providers and biotech companies, with the support of the local authorities and the French State. The Nantes-based IHU project focuses on the role of patient-centred translational research and medical care in understanding and curing disease. The IHU project is being led by Professor Jean-Paul Soulillou (one of the field’s leading physicians and researchers) and currently involves over 1100 staff (including almost 200 researchers- one of the French government’s criteria for the future IHUs). It is set to be Europe’s leading programme in the high-priority field of transplantation science.

Posted by fidest press agency su venerdì, 10 luglio 2009

New York.
