STK REGEV® ‘Hybrid’ Fungicide Now Registered in Colombia

STK bio-ag technologies, the innovative Israel–based leader in bio-ag technology for sustainable crop protection and aquaculture, is announcing that its ‘hybrid’ fungicide REGEV® is now registered in Colombia for use on rice crops, with registrations anticipated in September on coffee, bananas, roses, and the Solanaceas family of crops, which include potatoes, tomatoes and peppers. STK REGEV® is the world’s first foliar ‘hybrid’ fungicide, and is currently used successfully in eight countries in various regions of the world, with plans for global expansion in 2019.
STK REGEV® is a ‘pre-mix, used exactly the same way as other fungicides, but with the added benefits of lowering chemical residues and much better resistance management due to its highly complex formulation of Tea Tree Oil and Difenoconazole. Teleena’s launches unique hybrid (3G-4G – Lora) IoT connectivity solution

For their waste container project for the Municipality of Den Bosch great savings in both the use of battery and deployment of garbage trucks will be achieved. The solution also supports Mic-O-Data’s new commercial model “pay per waste dump”. CEO of Mic-O-Data Tim Blömer: “By using the flexible solution of Teleena we expect to have a long term solution for waste management for Cities whereas the end-user pays for disposing their garbage by using a card that opens up the waste bin. Virtual Cockpit in Cars Edges Closer to Reality as Hybrid Instrument Clusters Are Set to be the Standard Beyond 2020

londonLONDON – Modernisation efforts are sweeping through the instrument cluster (IC) space as automakers in North America and Europe strive to provide consumers with a unique driving experience. Analogue gauges in cars will become obsolete by 2021, giving way to hybrid and fully digital ICs with flexible designs that facilitate personalisation. Next-generation ICs will feature customisable dials and advanced liquid-crystal-display (LCD) quantum dot displays containing detailed, relevant information. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and tier I suppliers are also working on integrating the centre stack into the IC, thus displaying all necessary data in the driver’s line of sight and reducing distraction. New analysis from Frost & Sullivan, Rise of Virtual Cockpits in Cars (, finds that the IC market in North America and Europe is expected to clock a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.2 percent from 2014 to 2021, with digital IC expected to reach a CAGR of approx. 26 percent by 2021. While the “virtual cockpit” will be limited to premium-segment vehicles, fully digital clusters that will be standard in about 20 percent of cars will also be offered as an option on medium-segment cars. “Hybrid ICs, which include both analogue and digital components, will become a standard feature in most vehicle segments and platforms post 2017,” said Frost & Sullivan Automotive and Transportation Senior Research Analyst Ramnath Eswaravadivoo. “Hybrid ICs will continue to grow popular as the decreasing prices of graphic processors and control units make the integration of 3D graphics into hybrid ICs feasible.” The falling costs of LCD panels and related electronics are turning fully digital ICs into an affordable alternative too. Low- and medium-end OEMs prefer digital clusters that lower distraction by displaying only the information that the driver currently requires. Moreover, digital ICs can dynamically change the information shown as the driver shifts from one mode to another, and OEMs can add new functionalities into a digital cluster by merely changing the software. With digital ICs gaining traction, the need for software tooling is also heating up. However, the increasing instances of software failures could slow down adoption in North America and Europe.
“Constant software upgrades will be crucial to improve customer retention,” observed Eswaravadivoo. “In addition, as the use of software drastically goes up, OEMs must expand their services and collaborate closely with technology enablers to manage the issue of cybersecurity.” Nevertheless, the advantages of fully digital ICs far outweigh the challenges, and OEMs are working to capitalise on all the benefits that the technology can offer.

Bioplastiche Hybrid 101 valutate “Superiori a ogni plastica convenzionale”

El Segundu, Calif.,CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cereplast Italia SPA (Nasdaq:CERP), produttore leader di bioplastiche sostenibili a base biologica proprietarie, ha sostenuto un’analisi LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) che valuta gli impatti ambientali di diverse plastiche convenzionali e rinnovabili, dalla nascita fino all’immissione sul mercato (dall’estrazione della materia prima alla produzione del prodotto in plastica) che ha determinato il prodotto Hybrid 101 Cereplast come superiore a tutti i prodotti plastici valutati in termini di impatto ambientale complessivo. Lo studio è stato condotto da Sustainmetrics e ha visto il confronto della bioplastica Cereplast Hybrid 101 con quattro diverse plastiche convenzionali tra cui LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene, polietilene a bassa densità), PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate, polietilene tereftalato), HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene, polistirene ad alto impatto) e PP (Polypropylene, polipropilene). L’esame LCA è ancora in fase di revisione da parte di terze parti e verrà completato entro le prossime due settimane. L’obiettivo dello studio era valutare gli impatti ambientali complessivi, dalla nascita fino all’immissione sul mercato, tramite un metodo LCA che quantifica l’impatto ambientale dell’energia e dei materiali utilizzati, gli sprechi generati e le emissioni rilasciate. L’analisi LCA ha fornito una valutazione sull’impatto ambientale cumulativo per ogni prodotto, inclusi cambiamento climatico, nocività per lo strato di ozono ed eco-tossicità, tutti fattori sommati in un unico eco-punteggio ReCiPe. Le valutazioni dell’impatto sono state condotte per l’impronta di carbonio (Global Warming Potential, potenziale di riscaldamento globale) sfruttando la metodologia ufficiale IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), per il consumo delle risorse abiotiche con la metodologia CML relativa all’uso di materiali non rinnovabili come oli e metalli e l’impatto globale complessivo sfruttando la metodologia di classificazione a singolo punteggio ReCiPe più recente, standard per la creazione di una classificazione unica. La riduzione del GWP, ovvero del potenziale di riscaldamento globale, per la resina Hybrid 101 rispetto al convenzionale polipropilene corrisponde al 32% tenendo conto del carbone biogenico. Sostituendo 453.592 chili di convenzionale polipropilene con Hybrid 101, la riduzione dell’impatto ambientale corrisponde a 362.873 chili di CO2, equivalente a percorrere 1.179.327 chilometri con un veicolo passeggeri medio o fare il giro del mondo ventinove volte. Se lo 0,1% della domanda globale di polipropilene fosse sostituito da Hybrid 101, è come se dalle strade dell’America venissero tolte 5.100 automobili o come se si piantassero 1.200.000 di alberi, evitando milioni di chili di biossido di carbonio all’anno.
