But not everyone is celebrating. Mark Shields, an Apple user from Washington, DC started an incredibly popular campaign on Change.org calling on Apple to improve working conditions in factories where iPads are made.
Now Mark, along with hundreds of thousands of campaign signers, will be taking his petition to Apple a step further with a “Facebook rally” campaign on Wednesday, where he will ask campaign supporters to post messages asking for an ethical iPad 3. Mark, an Apple user from Washington DC, started the campaign after learning about poor working conditions and suicides in the Chinese factories where the iPad is made. Almost a quarter million people have joined Mark to call on Apple to improve working conditions in their Chinese factories, and the campaign has been covered in the Washington Post, CNN, ABC News, and MSNBC.
