“Cyber Threat Landscape for the Finance Sector”

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 5 settembre 2019

The Landscape Of A Mind: A Private Collector’s Surreal Vision

Posted by fidest press agency su venerdì, 7 giugno 2019

London – Christie’s will offer The Landscape of a Mind: A Private Collector’s Surreal Vision as a highlight of ‘20th Century at Christie’s’. Over a series of sales, including the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale on 18 June, and a dedicated sale of Design, Photography, Indian Miniatures, Post-War and Contemporary Art and further Impressionist and Modern Art on 20 June, more than 100 works will be presented. Together, they map the surreal vision of an eclectic collector who cleverly created a dialogue between objects and artworks in the domestic settings they inhabited. The collection is estimated in the region of £15,000,000. A dedicated interior will be created for the collection in the St James’s galleries at King Street from 13 to 20 June 2019 as part of ‘20th Century at Christie’s’, a series of auctions that will take place from 17 to 26 June 2019.
An important group of 13 Surrealist and Dada works will highlight the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale on 18 June 2019. Yves Tanguy’s L’Extinction des especes II (1938, estimate: £2,500,000-4,000,000) will be offered at auction for the first time and was passed down through the family of Tanguy’s primary dealer (Pierre Matisse) until 2013, when it was acquired by the present owner from the Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation. Le parc du vautour (1926, estimate: £2,500,000-4,000,000) is an unusually large surrealist landscape, which explores a dream-like scene. Featured in Magritte’s first solo exhibition in 1927, a seminal show which launched his career as a Surrealist, Le parc du vautour will be offered at auction for the first time.Olivier Camu, Deputy Chairman, Impressionist and Modern Art, Christie’s: “This superb and unique collection exudes a strong erotic surrealism, visible in the paintings, drawings, photographs, collages and iconic design. The formidable Mark Tansey was the first purchase, which then led to an appetite for Dada and Surrealism across many different categories and value levels, without any bias but always with great research, wit and an eye for quality. This most eclectic of collections draws us into the fascinating landscape of the mind of this very passionate collector. We are particularly excited to introduce at auction for the first time ever Magritte’s unusually large ‘Le parc du vautour’ of 1926 as well as Yves Tanguy’s ‘L’extinction des especes, II’ of 1938, the best painting by the artist I have seen at auction since the world record setting ‘Les derniers jours’ sold in these rooms in 2005.’”

The Italian Cultural Institute, York University and theUniversity of Western Ontario, in collaboration with the Istituto di Studi Superiori dell’Università di Bologna, Laboratorio di ricerca sulle città, are pleased to host an illustrated lecture byRaffaele Milani based on his book The art of the landscape(McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2009).
Landscape, which today is increasingly tied to ecology, geography, and the use of land, will be analyzed in terms of its aesthetic value and function, illustrating its cultural and historical identity. Landscape expresses a sentimental response, as well as a need for abstraction. It is not concerned only with natural beauty but makes sense of the world of human beings, from agriculture to cities, and throughout time it has belonged to the creativity of our visionary sensibility. Landscape is more than the sum of the parts, the individual fragments of our perception scattered along the continuum of our sensibility. It is more than the attraction of mental processes. It is the spirit of an infinite and magical connectedness of forms. The notion of landscape and beautiful landscape develops in history, but also in individuals, through the effects of time and space bound up with the rhythm of lines and surfaces that human beings invent almost instinctively. It is the outcome of the art of culture, the poesis of individuals and communities. Its recent significance showcases sensibility and art as an expression of the working out of virtuality. The present significance of the landscape in Europe can be understood by taking modern history as a starting point and referring to a tradition of vision that belongs to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Raffaele Milani Director of the Laboratorio di Studi sulle città (Istituto di Studi Superiori), Professor of Aesthetics in the Philosophy Department of the University of Bologna, visiting professor in various foreign universities, curator of many international conferences. He has been director of post lauream Master in Landscape science and design (Faculty of Architecture – Department of Philosophy, University of Bologna). He has been Member of the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Bologna for two tenures.
The conference will be followed by a short presentation of the Research Laboratory on Cities by Barbara Cimatti, coordinator of the Laboratory and of the Istituto di Studi Superiori of the University of Bologna

Centre international d’art et du paysage

Posted by fidest press agency su lunedì, 28 giugno 2010

Fu-an Kengo Kuma 29 June – 5 September 2010 Opening at noon, 28 June 2010 Shamisen concert with Mayumi Omura Centre international d’art et du paysage Ile de Vassivière. This idea is intrinsic to the very architecture of the Art Centre built by Aldo Rossi, to the new artists’ residence project conceived by Berger & Berger/ Building-Building, to Yona Friedman’s Licorne de Vassivière (Licorne Eiffel), to Hans Walter Müller’s inflatable modules, to Gilles Clements’s landscape charter and to Philippe Rahm’s architectural charter. For the Centre international d’art du paysage at Vassivière island, Kengo Kuma proposes the building of a teahouse called Fu-an, “space of tea ceremony flying in the air” -, it’s a project respectful of existing architecture while at the same time in open contrast with Aldo Rossi´s post-modern building: “Concentrating on the essential and on the powerful sense of poetry that we are creating here amid finished zones, a space of refined life generating new, important ideas”. Kengo Kuma re-interprets Aldo Rossi´s cafeteria by turning it into a light and luminous structure that invites one to contemplate and meditate, an aesthetic and tasting experience such as one finds in the traditional tea houses in Japan, in the places de dedicated to the tea ceremony. http://www.e-flux.com/contact

Yoshiko Wakabayashi Oshibana Now!

Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 23 giugno 2009

YoshikoNew York 172 Norfolk Street, New York, Angel Orensanz Foundation Art Gallery curated by Klara Palotai  The exhibition Oshibana now! presents a rich selection from the wide-ranging work of pressed flowers artist Yoshiko Wakabayashi. Her work is grounded in the universal interest of preserving the fleeting beauty of nature and in the long tradition of oshibana (pressed flower) in Japan.  Yoshiko Wakabayashi is a visual artist, who uses the splendid colors of the pressed flowers as her palette. Like pixels in a photograph, the shape of the plants are building blocks of her images: from a distance viewers only see the landscape, the garden, the figures. In these mixed media collages from the floral constituting elements a new image emerges. Only a closer look reveals all details: the textured surface of the multicolored pressed flowers, grasses, barks and stems.  The exhibition was assembled by the newly founded Japan Oshibana Art School in Tokyo. Yoshiko Wakabayashi’s artistic vision served as the inspiration for the school’s aesthetic direction and presently she is actively involved in the curriculum development. The goal of the school is to educate artists about the tradition of pressed flowers and offer new drying, pressing and preserving technologies based on recent scientific findings. This art form combines floral design with a wide range of artistic medium, including drawing, painting, animation and video. The instructor serves a guide and students are encouraged to experiment with many different mediums to find their own voice and express it in an individual artistic style.  The exhibition is curated by Klara Palotai, organized by Shugo Nakanishi, an international arts promoter, and produced by Tamao Sugishima, Takemitsu Yuki, directors of Japan Oshibana Art School in cooperation with the Angel Orensanz Foundation, New York. (Yoshiko)
