“Credit Cards in Latin America and the Caribbean: Financial Inclusion with Risk and Opportunity”

Posted by fidest press agency su lunedì, 9 settembre 2019

Latin America is a hotbed of payment fintechs with successful start-ups like Mercado Pago, PagSeguro, and Rappi offering free digital accounts, but will these nonbanks outpace the banking relationship? The analysis presented in the latest research report, Credit Cards in Latin America and the Caribbean: Financial Inclusion with Risk and Opportunity, recognizes opportunity but warns that infrastructure can be a limiting factor in this 20-country market.
Readers will understand the challenges that bank card issuers face and how card network revenue has lagged in the market. The report’s author explains how banks and vendors can navigate the changing market. Most adults in Latin America have a Mercado Pago or PagSeguro free digital account, comments the author of the research report. That does not mean everyone has a bank account, but new payment options make it easy to transact outside of the banking realm. Yet strong domestic and global credit card issuers operate in the market. He continues: There is plenty of room for growth, but risk management must contend with high default rates, unacceptable fraud levels, and a credit model that is not designed to let households comfortably revolve consumer credit card debt. Interest rates are sky high to offset operational and fraud risk.

“Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia: Opportunity Analysis and Forecasts to 2027”

Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 22 Mag 2019

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a form of cancer that originates from lymphocytes in the bone marrow and later invades the blood and/or lymphoid tissues. CLL treatment has been transformed since the novel oral targeted agents Imbruvica (ibrutinib), Zydelig (idelalisib), and Venclexta (venetoclax) were introduced to the market from 2014 onwards and challenged the prior dominance of chemoimmunotherapy regimens. During the forecast period, the global CLL market will welcome five new drugs-Calquence (acalabrutinib), zanubrutinib, umbralisib, ublituximab, and Revlimid (lenalidomide). It is estimated that the value of the CLL market in the 7MM (US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, and Canada) in 2017 was $7.7B. Among these sales, 79.5% ($6.1B) were generated in the US, with the 5EU representing the next largest region by sales, with an estimated 18.5% ($1.4B). Canada contributed the smallest proportion of sales, at 2.0% ($157M) of the global CLL market. By 2027, the US is forecast to represent a similar proportion of the 7MM sales, at 79.6%. The 5EU and Canada will account for 18.3% and 2.0% of the 7MM CLL market, respectively. It is projected that the CLL sales will rise to $9.2B in the seven major markets (7MM: US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, and Canada) by 2027, at a modest compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.8%. In particular, US CLL market is expected to grow more rapidly than the 5EU or Canada, increasing to $7.4B by 2027, at a still-modest CAGR of 1.9%. Sales in the other regions are also expected to increase by the end of the forecast period, with the 5EU and Canada having a CAGR of 1.7% and 1.8%, respectively.
This is driven by increasing incidence, driven primarily by aging populations, label expansions into the first-line setting for AbbVie/Roche’s Venclexta, frontline approval of the combination of AbbVie/Johnson & Johnson’s Imbruvica + Venclexta, and the increasing use of combination therapies instead of monotherapies or chemoimmunotherapy regimens. Generic and biosimilar erosion of some of the mainstays of CLL treatment is also expected during the forecast period, particularly the use of generic ibrutinib and biosimilar rituximab will lead to a decline in sales. A lack of innovative drugs in the late-stage pipeline with novel mechanisms of action means that next-generation agents are not expected to generate significant sales.

Security Intelligence, Opportunity and Innovation

Posted by fidest press agency su domenica, 21 ottobre 2018

The “Secured IoT: Worldwide IoT Security Intelligence, Opportunity, & Innovation 2018 to 2025” report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering. This research forecasts that the IoT security market will grow to become a US$61.39 billion industry in 2025, growing at a CAGR of 32% during 2018-2025. The IoT is exceedingly penetrating from industries to consumer and civil applications such as connected homes, connected cars, health monitoring and smart utility meters. It’s true that IoT devices offer exciting opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and engagement. However, they also introduce new security challenges. Which is not just about tapping billions of devices, but also different operating systems, networks, and protocols. Already we are seeing hacks on IoT applications. In 2012, a malware infected high-risk pregnancy monitors at a Boston hospital in the US. The malware slowed down fetal monitors used on women with high-risk pregnancies being treated in intensive-care wards. In 2014, the European crime agency Europol warned that the IoT creates new types of risks and threats not only in consumer applications but also in critical infrastructure control systems. In 2016, a group of Chinese researchers found vulnerabilities in the Taiwanese-made Edimax smart plug, a device routinely used for home automation. The team was able to gain access to user credentials by exploiting cryptographic flaws. In 2017, Xiongmai Technology, an IoT camera manufacturer from Hangzhou admitted its cameras had been exploited by the Mirai malware to form part of a botnet and launch a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack targeting websites including Twitter, PayPal, and Spotify. The assault was one of the worst in US history. These are not isolated cases; numerous other security flaws are being reported frequently from all over the world. The research tried to find out why are IoT solutions not secure and is it really that difficult to achieve. Our study revealed that the competition in the IoT space is so ruthless that vendors are rushing products to the market, with security often added as an afterthought (if at all) rather than being built-in from the start. For IoT service providers, speed of delivery and low cost are more important than robust security and thorough testing. It doesn’t help that, currently, IoT devices lack a common set of compliance requirements. However, the scenario is going to change soon as next potential IoT adopter (Industry, consumer or government) refuses to embrace IoT solution lacking strong inbuilt security features. The growing penetration of IoT devices will also force governments to set standard for IoT devices and strict guidelines for security and privacy of data and parties who will be accountable in cases if security is compromised. This has opened the door to innovation and added a new dimension to the global competition among IoT security solutions providers. The role of specialised IoT security solutions will eventually grow as the market matures.

“Bancassurance Market: Global Industry Trends, Share, Size, Growth, Opportunity and Forecast 2018-2023”

Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 11 settembre 2018

The “Bancassurance Market: Global Industry Trends, Share, Size, Growth, Opportunity and Forecast 2018-2023” report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering. The global bancassurance market has reached a value of more than US$ 1,040.7 Billion in 2017
The global bancassurance market is currently witnessing strong growth as banks are adopting more diversified and enhanced product portfolios in their offerings, especially in the face of banking industry regulations which will limit the lenders’ probability with their traditional business lines.Bancassurance simply refers to selling insurance products through established distribution channels of banks. Herein, banks and insurance firms come up with an agreement, which prompts the insurance firm to sell its products to the bank clients. This arrangement is getting highly popular, as this benefit both the bank as well as the insurance firm. From the banks’ point of view, they receive a fee amount (non-interest income) apart from the interested income from the insurance company. Whereas, from the insurance firms’ point of view, they get to increase their customers and market reach.Currently, banks have become the main distribution channel for insurance products, and insurance firms provide a substantial profit source for them in return. Bancassurance arrangement largely reposes on the relationship that the bank has developed with the customer over a period of time. Therefore, insurance firms are more than happy with pushing risk products through banks, as it is a better and cost-effective affair compared to the agent route. And, for banks, fee-based income at a minimum cost is always a welcome considering the falling interest rates.Bancassurance is becoming an important factor for the overall financial services market growth due to the consolidation in the sector. With technological advancements influencing consumer behaviors and their purchasing patterns, the global bancassurance market is expected to witness a continuous upsurge in its valuation. Moreover, the increase in mobile surfing and mounting penetration of internet are expected to fuel the global bancassurance market growth as well.Looking forward, the market value is projected to reach US$ 1,451.4 Billion by 2023, expanding at a CAGR of 5.7% during 2018-2023.

BlueInvest 2018: An ocean of opportunity with the right backing

Posted by fidest press agency su mercoledì, 28 febbraio 2018

The European Commission is looking for entrepreneurs active in the blue economy to take part in a high-profile event aimed at matching cutting edge companies with public and private investors. #BlueInvest 2018, the first European event of its kind and hosted by Karmenu Vella, Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, will take place on 17 May in Brussels. The global blue economy, which covers all activities making use of the ocean’s resources – from fisheries, to renewable energy to biotechnology, is set to grow at twice the rate of the mainstream economy by 2030. For Europe, this could mean 10.8 million jobs and nearly 1 trillion euro in turnover. It could mean cleaner energy, new health benefits, dependable food. But the needs for investment are huge and many innovative companies lack the financial backing to grow and bring their products and services to the marketplace.Commissioner Vella is determined to help: “Our ocean is a source of food, medicine, energy and so much more. The European Commission wants to boost companies that see the ocean as an opportunity. Access to finance is the passage to sustainable growth. We want to go beyond merely funding and actively match companies with potential investors. I believe this will shine light on this rapidly developing sector and create opportunities for jobs creation, economic growth and the sustainable development of the blue economy.” The event follows on to the 2017 Our Ocean conference, where the EU pushed blue growth higher on the international agenda and helped to mobilise the corporate sector. It also dovetails with the priorities set by Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, namely to improve the EU’s overall business environment by removing barriers to investment and promoting sustainable finance.

Brexit and the EU budget: threat or opportunity?/Brexit et budget de l’UE: menace ou opportunité?

Posted by fidest press agency su venerdì, 27 gennaio 2017

brexit.jpgThe British decision to leave the European Union (EU) was influenced by the debate about the EU budget, but it is the opposite also true? Will British withdrawal have a decisive influence on the EU budget? In this policy paper, Jörg Haas, research fellow in our office in Germany, the Jacques Delors Institut – Berlin, and Eulalia Rubio, senior researcher on economic and social affairs, estimate how Brexit would impact the EU’s public finances. The authors draw up four scenarios that tline how the EU could react to the expected budget shortfall after Brexit and provide estimates of how the individual Member States might be affected by the different options. They analyse the political implications of these four scenarios for the upcoming negotiations about the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), which will start in 2018. Overall, the policy paper concludes that Brexit could have a quite significant, although not devastating, impact on the EU budget and would likely deepen the existing cleavage between ‘net contributors’ and ‘net recipients’. This poses a number of tough challenges for the EU but could also support efforts to reform the current system.
(photo: brexit)

Civil society leaders speaking at a Our Voices press conference in Rome positively assessed the impact of the Pope´s Encyclical, “Laudato Si´

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 9 luglio 2015

vaticano“The Encyclical represents the most visible expression of the widespread increase in religious engagement of every major faith tradition around the climate crisis”, the Rev. Fletcher Harper, priest of the US Episcopal (Anglican) church stated. Coordinator of Our Voices, the interfaith global movement for climate action and executive director of GreenFaith, the US-based think tank for religion and ecology, Fr. Fletcher stated that “one recent example was the recent Multi-Faith Emerging Leaders Convergence in Rome (29 June to 1 July) organised by Our Voices to train 100 young faith leaders from 40 countries and all major faith traditions in advocacy and outreach on climate change issues, with strong emphasis on the Encyclical. The preceding large and widely reported interfaith climate change march on 28 June to St. Peter´s Square involved broad representation of both faiths and civil society movements, earning a much appreciated public welcome from the Pope after the end of his Angelus message”. “Fighting climate change is fighting poverty and injustice. All of us share the Encyclical´s impatience at the lack of progress in the UN climate negotiations. Decisive action is needed now, we urge world leaders not to miss the opportunity at the next negotiations in Paris in December. The growth of the climate movement in the faith community and more broadly has provided the kind of political cover that world leaders need in order to act.” According to Wael Hmaidan, Director of the 900-NGO Climate Action Network International the Encyclical set high standards for global political action. “Whatever comes out of the forthcoming high-level global meetings, such as the new Sustainable Development Agenda at UN General Assembly in September and the Climate negotiations in Paris in December, will be compared to the visionary nature of the Encyclical. This document makes clear what needs to happen to address climate change, which is to gradually and without delay replacing fossil fuels with sustainable solutions, especially renewable energies. Will the international political community be brave enough to commit to this vision?” Speaking for the Italian Climate Network, Dr. Federico Brocchieri, Coordinator of ICN’s youth section, said that the Encyclical would have “a very important role in increasing awareness worldwide, particularly in Italy. It may not have a direct impact on the UN negotiations, although it could help us measure how far the action taken by For more information contact: media@ourvoices.net | alex.price@ourvoices.net
governments in Paris will be in line or not with the targets set by science. Our organization undertakes a broad range of activities both to inform the Italian public but also to influence the outcome of the climate negotiations, participating in a major recent push by youth organisations for the concept of intergenerational equity to be included in the current negotiating text for Paris.” Josianne Gauthier, Director of the In-Canada Programs at Development and Peace
(Canada) said that “as the Encyclical makes clear, fighting climate change and poverty must go together. Our member organisations will be promoting it in their countries, and running a massive campaign, Create a climate of change. We in Canada will be campaigning this autumn to educate the government of Canada. CIDSE calls on everyone to effect a personal transformation and change of lifestyle. If the public demands something of government which is coherent with its personal choices, then surely politicians cannot ignore popular will. We are hopeful that change is possible, and happening: we have to hold on to the idea of humans being capable of doing good.” “The CIDSE network of 17 Catholic development NGOs, to which my organisation belongs, in partnership with the Holy See´s Pontifical Council on Justice and Peace organised a broad gathering of diverse catholic and non-catholic representatives as well as scientists on 2-3 July in Rome to celebrate the launch of the Encyclical. We see this document as a real call to action and prayer, especially for Catholics.” Isaiah Toroitich, Global Policy and Advocacy Co-ordinator of ACT Alliance (a coalition of 147 non-Catholic Christian NGOs active in over 140 nations) said that his alliance was focusing on advocacy activities relating to climate finance, adaptation, loss and damage and low carbon development. “We immediately welcomed the Encyclical in a press statement. We feel it gives us an additional moral and ethical imperative that supports our calls for equity and climate justice.” ” The document addresses the world community, it is an inspiration to all civil society to boldly ask for higher ambition from governments. The Holy Father called out powerful governments and businesses that seem to have been concealing the problem to show an honest and genuine commitment to address the issues.“ “We will continue referring to the Encyclical in our work, particularly in Africa at the forthcoming launch next month of the Mozambique to Kenya two-month bicycle pilgrimage involving many thousands of young people, supported by our Climate Change Ambassador, the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, the Most. Rev. Thabo Magkoba.“ The former senior climate change negotiator and Climate Commissioner of the Philippines, Yeb Saño, who now leads the Our Voices People´s Pilgrimage for Climate Action, culminating in his heading a 1500km/ 26-person walk from Rome to Paris starting on 30 September, envisions this activity “as a special journey bringing a rich tapestry of spiritual traditions from all over the world. The Pilgrimage pays homage to every community that stands up against climate change and shows resilience.” “Together we will have totalled 40,000 kms, or the equivalent of the world´s circumference: the Encyclical also has 40,000 words. As we reach Paris we will be joined by pilgrims from all over Europe while other pilgrimages will be happening across the world. Of course, it will doubtless take much more than our pilgrimage and civil society mobilisations to improve the outcome of the Paris negotiations compared to current expectations – we need a spiritual and ecological conversion on a planetary scale”.

2015 a ‘Once in a Generation Opportunity’ for Sustainable Development

Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 27 gennaio 2015

Onu palaceNew York. The head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) said today that while there is tremendous volatility and turmoil around the world, this year presented a unique opportunity to eradicate poverty and agree on a path for sustainable development.“At UNDP, we see 2015 as a huge opportunity to advance the global sustainable development agenda,” said Helen Clark at the opening session of UNDP’s Executive Board meeting in New York. “The Millennium Development Goals are set to expire at the end of this year and UN Member States will meet in September to agree on the new Sustainable Development Goals, which will guide global development priorities for the next 15 years.”She also cited other events this year that would be critical to global development: the 3rd World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in March, in Sendai, Japan; the 3rd International Conference on Financing for Development in July in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and the UN climate change conference in Paris, France, in December.“The combined outcomes of these major processes are a once in a generation opportunity to set a transformational global agenda for sustainable development,” she said.In her statement she also outlined UNDP’s work in response to current crises around the world such as the refugee crisis in countries neighboring Syria, and the crises in Central African Republic, South Sudan, Ukraine, and many others.“Through our work on early recovery we aim to support countries to move from the relief phase to recovery as quickly as possible,” she said. She also discussed UNDP’s implementation of its new Strategic Plan and its ongoing reforms to make the organization more effective and efficient. She also welcomed Fernando Carrera, Permanent Representative of Guatemala to the UN, on his election as President of the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board and thanked outgoing President Peter Thomson, Permanent Representative of Fiji to the United Nations.”This is an exceptional time for the development community”, said Carrera, “The months leading up to the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals offer a unique opportunity for all of us to shape a global agenda for the next generation that will ensure a reduction of poverty and inequality for the world’s poorest and most vulnerable.” “Likewise, in the run-up to the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in December, this year is equally crucial for the international community’s combined efforts to counter the effects of climate change.” “The Executive Board will continue to oversee and support UNDP in the coming year, in particular in the Organization’s ongoing efforts to strengthen oversight and accountability amongst partners and donors.” Concluding her remarks, Clark said: “UNDP is fully committed to playing its part in making 2015 a launch pad for stepped up efforts to advance human, sustainable, and resilient development for all countries and peoples. We look forward to working with the Board to this end, and thank you once again for your support for our work.”

Illegal Activity Earns Greenpeace a Hearing

Posted by fidest press agency su domenica, 22 gennaio 2012

Deutsch: Schriftzug von Greenpeace English: Gr...

Image via Wikipedia

As energy prices across the world remain volatile, it’s become more important to explore new sources of oil and gas to help alleviate the stress on consumers and businesses. Unless, of course, you’re Greenpeace. Fresh from their successful campaign to halt the Keystone XL Pipeline in the U.S., Greenpeace is now taking action in the United Kingdom to encourage government ministers to drop their support for companies such as Cairn Energy who would like to pursue more oil drilling in the Arctic. Speaking before a parliamentary committee regarding Cairn Energy’s activities is clearly a major change for Greenpeace, given that they have previously resorted to criminal activities in Greenland.Just last year four Greenpeace activists “climbed aboard Cairn Energy’s Stena Don platform off the island’s coast and rigged up hanging tents.” The government of Greenland criticized Greenpeace for its “very grave and illegal attack,” before highlighting its sovereign right to explore “opportunities to secure the economic foundation for its people’s condition of life.” As we have documented in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, Greenpeace has no respect for state sovereignty. The statement from Greenland’s government could be any country describing their ongoing travails against Greenpeace. British parliamentarians providing yet more publicity to an organization that thrives on criminal activity is an insult to those across the world who have fought Greenpeace for their rights to pursue economic opportunity.

Charlotte is a city marked by its southern charm, warm hospitality, and an “up by the bootstraps” mentality that has propelled the city forward as one of the fastest-growing in the South. Vibrant, diverse, and full of opportunity, the Queen City is home to innovative, hardworking folks with big hearts and open minds. And of course, great barbecue. Barack and I spent a lot of time in North Carolina during the campaign — from the Atlantic Coast to the Research Triangle to the Smoky Mountains and everywhere in between. Barack enjoyed Asheville so much when he spent several days preparing for the second Presidential debate that our family vacationed there in 2009.And my very first trip outside of Washington as First Lady was to Fort Bragg, where I started my effort to do all we can to help our heroic military families. All the contending cities were places that Barack and I have grown to know and love, so it was a hard choice. But we are thrilled to be bringing the convention to Charlotte. We hope many of you can join us in Charlotte the week of September 3rd, 2012. But if you can’t, we intend to bring the spirit of the convention — as well as actual, related events to your community and even your own backyard. More than anything else, we want this to be a grassroots convention for the people. We will finance this convention differently than it’s been done in the past, and we will make sure everyone feels closely tied in to what is happening in Charlotte. This will be a different convention, for a different time. To help us make sure this is a grassroots convention — The People’s Convention — we need to hear from you. We want to know what you’d like to see at next year’s convention, how and where you plan on watching it — and the very best way we can engage your friends and neighbors. That’s also the belief at the core of The People’s Convention. That the table we sit at together ought to be big enough for everyone. That the thread that binds us — a belief in the promise of this country — is strong enough to sustain us through good times and bad. Barack talked at the State of the Union of his vision for how America can win the future. That must be the focus now, and I know so many of you will help talk about our plans with your neighbors — that through innovation, education, reform, and responsibility we can make sure America realizes this vision. (Michelle Obama)

The Economist: New edition

Posted by fidest press agency su venerdì, 23 luglio 2010

This week has been a quiet week for news, and we have taken the opportunity to look at something that never hits the headlines, but that we think America has been getting wrong for a long time: incarceration. America locks up far more people, as a proportion of its population, than any other rich country. Offences that should be regulated are criminalised; sentences for crimes are often longer than is useful. The system is both unjust and exceedingly expensive. Politicians normally compete to sound tougher than each other; but change might be possible in this era of budgetary constraints Also in this week’s issue: America’s trains: The world’s best freight system, threatened by ambitions for passengers Capitalism in Europe: Secretly, Europeans quite like the stuff Two years to the London Olympics: What Britain’s got right and wrong Abolish Fannie and Freddie: The state needs to pull out of America’s mortgage market The science of the Mona Lisa: The secret of her face. Human rights

Posted by fidest press agency su lunedì, 7 giugno 2010

Human rights and social commitment are at the heart of the churches calling. This became evident in the first meeting of the new Church and Society Commission of the Conference of European Churches (CSC) in its meeting in Hagenau near Strasbourg.   Besides its internal debate, the plenary had the opportunity to visit the Council of Europe and discuss religious and human rights with several of its high-level officials. Mr Juris Rudevskis from the Court of Human Rights provided a briefing on the Court’s case law in relation to Article 9 which stipulates the freedom of religion. He explained that whereas the right to believe is an absolute right, the external manifestation of religious belief can be limited in the name of public safety, public order, health and morals or the rights and freedoms of others, but only as prescribed by law and as necessary in democratic societies. These limitations are applied with a margin of appreciation for member states in order to accommodate specificities of national contexts. Mr Alfonso de Salas from the Directorate of Human Rights, described the Council of Europe Secretariat as a watchdog monitoring the compliance of the member states’ commitments.  In addition to the topic of human rights, the Commission was received by one its own members, Dr. Verena Taylor. Dr Taylor, the Head of Protocol of the Council of Europe and former director of the Council of Europe Liaison Office with the European Union, offered the meeting an overview of the history of relations between the Council of Europe and the European Union.  The Church and Society Commission elected Pasteur Serge Fornerud (Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches) as the moderator and Mag. Katerina Karkala (Orthodox Church of Greece) and Rev. Jan Dus (Evangelical Church of Czech Bretheren) as the vice-moderators of the new Executive Committee. In addition, Bishop Porfyrios Papastylianou (Orthodox Church of Cyprus), Dr. Charles Reed (Church of England) and Dr Verana Taylor (Evangelical Church A and HB in Austria) will serve in the Executive Committee.
The Conference of European Churches (CEC) is a fellowship of some 120 Orthodox, Protestant, Anglican and Old Catholic Churches from all countries of Europe, plus 40 associated organisations. CEC was founded in 1959. It has offices in Geneva, Brussels and Strasbourg.  The Church and Society Commission of CEC links member churches and associated organisations of CEC with the European Union’s institutions, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, NATO and the UN (on European matters). Its task is to help the churches study church and society questions from a theological and social-ethical perspective, especially those with a European dimension, and to represent common positions of the member churches in their relations with political institutions working in Europe.

MBA programs

Posted by fidest press agency su lunedì, 26 aprile 2010

In response to the large number of requests from MBA candidates, QS has extended their deadline for scholarship applications from 30th April to 15th May. This was done to give more MBA candidates the opportunity to apply for the maximum number of scholarships available from the $1.6million scholarship fund. Statistics taken from fifteen years of registration data collected from the QS World MBA Tour have consistently indicated greater levels of interest in MBA programs during times of recession. In response to this trend, QS has increased the number of scholarships available in 2010 as well as extended the application deadline. Zoya Zaitseva, Senior Operations Manager of the World MBA Tour said, “We know that more and more people are considering using the economic downturn as a chance to further their education and to put themselves in a stronger position on the other side of the recession. The majority of the MBA candidates around the world would like to get scholarships to help them pay for their studies, which is why we work with top business schools together to offer these opportunities.” The scholarships are designed to help MBA candidates who have already been offered a place for the 2010 intake at their chosen business school, and have attended a QS World MBA fair from 2009-2010. Applications are received online (www.topmba.com/scholarships) where they will need to answer a series of questions and submit the relevant application essay.
