Invaluable Secures U.S. Patent Allowing It to Consolidate Online Bidding across the Auction House Industry

Posted by fidest press agency su domenica, 17 giugno 2018

Invaluable, the world’s leading online marketplace for fine art, antiques and collectibles, today announced it has secured a U.S. Utility Patent that paves the way for the company to consolidate and streamline online bidding technology across the auction industry.
Invaluable CEO Rob Weisberg said the patent recognizes the unique live auction bidding console technology developed and managed by Invaluable and offers intellectual property protections from any U.S. companies. Invaluable has applied for the same protections internationally; that application is pending.“I consider it a game-changer for our company and for auction houses everywhere, setting Invaluable apart as the go-to platform to consolidate the auction industry,” said Weisberg.
The Invaluable technology aggregates all online live auction marketplaces and funnels bids to a single auction house clerk utilizing one clerking console powered by Invaluable. This integration spares auction houses from having to use multiple clerks to take bids from several online live marketplaces and sort them in real time during a sale and manage them post-sale. It gives auction houses the ability to efficiently scale up their online sales – vital for growth in the challenging and competitive auction industry, said Weisberg. The patent award from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office came after a four-and a half-year application process, said D.J. Charles, the company’s Chief Technology Officer. Sotheby’s and eBay have used Invaluable’s console technology to power their live auction sales for the last three years, said Charles.
Additionally, Invaluable has filed a secondary “continuation-in-part” application to extend the patent on live auction bidding technology to further include timed auctions, said Charles.

Understory Receives Patent for Mechanical Strain-Based Weather Sensor Technology

Posted by fidest press agency su giovedì, 15 febbraio 2018

Understory, the weather network and analytics company, today announced that it received a patent for its mechanical strain-based weather sensor, a key component in its weather station technology.
“To date, weather infrastructure has been expensive, with most costs going to ongoing maintenance and recalibration,” said Alex Kubicek, CEO, Understory. “This patent changes the game. For the first time, Understory has created a privately owned-and-operated network that collects and delivers granular weather data to clients across industries including insurance, agriculture and research organizations.”With its patented solid state sensor, Understory is the only company in the world that can deploy cost-effective weather sensor technology that provides real-time data on the ground. The sensors consist of a stainless steel ball that detects wind, rain, hail and other atmospheric elements via the application of force. Data is then derived from directional information on geospatially specific weather conditions and the patent proves measurables including angle of impact, momentum and size of hail. Understory then utilizes the sensor information across an area to understand impact on property damage. Agricultural applications include measuring rainfall and evapotranspiration to provide on-the-ground insight to optimize growing operations for modern farmers.“Understory’s patented technology provides actionable information that radar, satellite and other remote sensing technologies fail to deliver and cannot replicate,” said Bryan Dow, Understory co-founder and VP of Deployments. “Access to hyper-local weather data is valuable across industries. For example, the insurance industry can understand storm-related property damage to reduce loss control, and the agriculture industry can optimize operational decisions that boost crop yields.”There are currently 500 stations deployed across five major U.S. metropolitan areas and a national expansion planned to increase Understory’s sensor network to 5,000 sensors by the end of 2019.

Food Safety Patent Pending: Pre-harvest reduction of foodborne pathogens in food animals

Posted by fidest press agency su venerdì, 11 settembre 2015

Food_SecurityCedar Rapids, IA Diamond V announces the patent-pending use of Diamond V Original XPC™ as a “method for foodborne pathogen reduction in livestock.” Feeding all-natural Original XPC as recommended during food animal production helps reduce the prevalence and numbers of Salmonella and Campylobacter in the animal, production environment, and food processing plant, as described in the pending patent and supported by numerous scientific studies. Reducing these pathogens pre-harvest can improve food safety.Over 125 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles describe how the pre-harvest technologies of Diamond V products support immunity, health, and performance of poultry, pigs, dairy and beef cattle, aquaculture species, and other food animals. Diamond V technology for pre-harvest reduction of foodborne pathogens deserves attention from all decision makers throughout the food supply chain, including executives, quality assurance personnel, veterinarians, and farmers.Consumers today are concerned about how their food is produced and accept the use of effective, all-natural products. Diamond V’s unique, all-natural, fermentation-based products offer safe, cost-effective, pre-harvest solutions for food animal production.“Our industry-leading research and ‘first in the field’ patent pending pre-harvest pathogen reduction applications give producers and consumers confidence that Diamond V technologies and expertise help provide additional security from food safety challenges,” says Jeff Cannon, Diamond V President and CEO.Diamond V’s pending patent is based on numerous studies at many research institutions that involved pathogenic challenges to healthy animals by several different strains of Salmonella and Campylobacter. The resulting body of scientific knowledge on the effects of Original XPC on foodborne pathogen reduction represents the largest known collection of pre-harvest food safety research projects. These projects are the replicable work of leading investigators using varying methods. The quality, consistency, and reliability of these multiple sources of data further support Diamond V’s unique pending patent. Most efforts to reduce pathogen numbers in food animals and products, including chemicals applied during processing, are not completely effective. Research shows that the pre-harvest pathogen contamination of animals correlates directly with the post-harvest presence of pathogens in food products. Research also indicates that, while there is no “silver bullet” to completely eliminate foodborne pathogens, a multi-step intervention plan — including pre-harvest mitigation at the farm level – is most effective.Original XPC and other Diamond V nutritional health products are manufactured in Diamond V facilities in the USA using proprietary microbial fermentation technologies that generate unique functional metabolites with proven beneficial effects on animal health, performance, and food safety. Scientific references appear in the attached white paper on food safety and are available upon request.Headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA, Diamond V is an international leader in nutritional health products for animals and people, with offices around the world and sales in over 60 countries. More than 70 years of science, innovation, technology, and quality have earned Diamond V the reputation of The Trusted Experts in Nutrition and Health®. The company’s Embria Health Sciences subsidiary in Ankeny, Iowa manufactures EpiCor®, the human nutritional supplement that provides research-proven immune support.
