Posted by fidest press agency su martedì, 4 giugno 2019

BioMarker Strategies, LLC, a company focused on helping make precision medicine more of a reality for patients with solid tumor cancers, today announced that President and CEO Jerry Parrott will present at BIO 2019 at 11:00 EDT on Wednesday, June 5. The presentation will take place in Theater 3, Level 200 of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
BioMarker Strategies has developed the proprietary SnapPath® Cancer Diagnostics System for predictive tests to guide targeted drug development and treatment selection for solid tumors. SnapPath is the only diagnostics system that can generate purified populations of live solid tumor cells from live, unfixed samples in an automated and standardized manner. The system preserves the molecular integrity of these living cells for ex vivo exposure to targeted therapies. This enables the generation of PathMap® Functional Signaling Profiles, which are highly predictive of individual solid tumor response to targeted therapies and combinations, because they are based on the dynamic, predictive signaling information available only from live cells.Demonstrations of the SnapPath Cancer Diagnostics System will be provided during Exhibition hours at BioMarker Strategies Booth #3627-A in the Maryland Pavilion.BIO 2019 celebrates the globally important innovations in biotech that start with one: one meeting, one theory, one trial, one breakthrough. More than 16,000 attendees are expected from 67 countries.

American Airlines announced that it will begin nonstop flights to Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) starting February 16, 2019. The Central Florida airport is conveniently located in the heart of the tourism region and is the closest airport to NASA rocket launches, Port Canaveral’s cruises and what critics call “some of the most beautiful beaches Florida has to offer.”The flights will depart Saturdays from Philadelphia at 8:05 a.m., arriving in Florida at 10:48 a.m. The Embraer 175 jet arrival time syncs perfectly with cruise ship noon early boarding. Melbourne Airport Express offers nonstop shuttle service to the port, and all major rental car companies are onsite. The return flight to PHL departs at 11:24 a.m. and arrives in PHL at 1:55 p.m., with enough time to connect to some of American’s largest international destinations, including recently announced summer service to Dubrovnik, Croatia and Bologna, Italy.Considered a stress-free alternative, new way to travel, American Airlines’ passengers will enjoy all of Florida’s amenities and see why PrivateFly.com declared MLB the nation’s #1 scenic airport approach. Growing in popularity, MLB is just minutes away from 72 miles of sparkling beaches and Sebastian Inlet State Park, home to more than 100 endangered species, world class surfing and fishing, with the added attraction of a protected tide pool beach where children and manatees can be found sharing the warm ocean waters.“The more that sun-seeking families learn about our area, the more they seek nonstop service via MLB,” said Puneet (PK) Kapur, chairman of the Space Coast Office of Tourism. “We’re close to everywhere people want to go on their Florida family vacation.” MLB Airport Executive Director Greg Donovan, A.A.E. welcomes the expansion of flights from American Airlines and anticipates more flights to serve the more relaxed family-friendly atmosphere found via MLB. “The drive to Disney and Universal seems shorter after a day on the beach.”

Posted by fidest press agency su venerdì, 25 settembre 2015

marital loveThe Pontifical Council for the Family today presented at the Philadelphia World Meeting of Families a video-summary on “Marital Love and Responsible Parenthood”. It has been produced by Goya Producciones under the patronage of the Council.
Over 15,000 people are attending the WMF, which is scheduled to be closed on Sunday by Pope Francis.
The new video summarizes a ten-part series of short documentaries to be released by the producer early next year in different languages. Featuring are international experts on debated matters such as marriage, responsible parenthood and natural family planning.
Gynecologists and other experts explain in the video that the natural methods effectiveness is equivalent to any artificial method. They are not, however, “a catholic system of contraception”. They are rather a way of living love based on the respect to nature and to human dignity. The natural methods of fertility regulation keep the espouses closer together. According to US experts, the rate of divorce is less than 3% among users of natural methods, whereas it reaches up to 50% among those using contraception.
The video also shows that the natural methods are good for health, compared with the numerous side effects of the pill and other contraceptives. The natural methods are not only effective for spacing births but also to achieve them in case of infertility. The Natural Procreative Technology is becoming as effective as any Assisted Reproductive Technology techniques, but with lower cost and with healthier pregnancies, and healthier babies, the experts claim. The video shows that the natural methods are being successfully used in many countries of different cultures and religions worldwide. They are however not widely spread because of lack of financial resources. The last part of the video comments on Pope Paul VI encyclical “Humanae Vitae” and the development of his teaching by John Paul II, Benedict XVI and pope Francis. The video was made in cooperation with the UCAM and the ACN. (foto: marital love)

Washington, DC – More than 15,000 people in 15 states have joined a popular campaign on Change.org calling on the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to allow three-year-old Amelia Rivera a kidney transplant her family says she needs to survive. Sunday Stilwell, a mother of two autistic boys, launched the campaign on Change.org after reading a blog post by Amelia’s mother, Chrissy Rivera, about a meeting with hospital staff. In the post Rivera alleges that hospital staff explained her daughter, a three-year old with Wold-Hischhorn Syndrome, was not eligible for a medically-necessary kidney transplant due to “mental delays.” “As a mother of two sons on the severe end of the autism spectrum, I could not sit back and let anyone tell another special needs parent that their child is not worthy of living,” said Sunday Stilwell, who launched the campaign on Change.org. “I read Amelia’s story and imagined myself sitting across the table from a doctor and social worker telling me my boys’ lives have no value, and I knew I had to do something to make sure this never happens to another family.”More than 15,000 people joined StilweIls’s campaign on Change.org in less than 48 hours and over the weekend.“What these concerned citizens have accomplished in just a few days is remarkable,” said Change.org Director of Organizing Corinne Ball. “With no budget and armed with only a laptop, Sunday Stilwell has managed to recruit more than 15,000 supporters from 15 states. Change.org is about empowering anyone, anywhere to demand action on the issues that matter to them, and it has been incredible to watch Sunday’s campaign take off.”Stilwell hopes her petition on Change.org will result in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) reconsidering their decision. The hospital has responded to the controversy with a statement on Facebook: “We want you to know that CHOP does not have any criteria which exclude patients from being considered for transplant solely on the basis of their cognitive status. Transplant programs at CHOP have never declined a patient for transplant based solely on their cognitive status and we have performed transplants on many children with disabilities and impairments.”
