Sensors and metrology as the driving force for digitalization

Posted by fidest press agency su venerdì, 21 giugno 2019

Nürnberg from June 25 to 27, the world’s leading forum for sensor and measurement technology, will be able to see these and many other pioneering technologies at the joint Fraunhofer exhibit.
Many digitalized processes depend on data collected by increasingly powerful sensors and other test and measurement technology. When this data is processed, it provides precise and reliable information about the operating environment. Nine Fraunhofer Institutes will be presenting the results of their research into sensor technology and its applications in the field of testing and measurement at Sensor+Test 2019.

The Sensors Expo & Conference

Posted by fidest press agency su sabato, 12 maggio 2018

The workshop, Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 1:00- 4:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, Executive Ballroom E at the San Jose Convention Center, will be moderated by Brandon Lewis of Embedded Computing Design. The session is open to those with expo and conference passes, and will address the role and implementation of a root of trust, the development of secure software to support a root of trust, and how to embed trust and security into networks. Speakers include Steve Hanna, Infineon; Dennis Mattoon, Microsoft; and Lee Wilson, OnBoard Security. They will address and show available solutions and technologies to secure embedded and IoT systems, networks and data.
During the expo in Booth #1539 Wednesday, June 17, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 28, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., TCG will demonstrate the DICE lightweight root of trust, the TPM for network security and the Trusted Software Stack.
Recent attacks on vulnerable embedded and IoT systems have resulted in lost personal and corporate data, legal fines, lost customer trust and lost services. At worst, these attacks can shut down critical infrastructure. Yet, the majority of embedded and IoT devices, and the networks they operate on, remain unprotected.
TCG is a not-for-profit organization formed to develop, define and promote open, vendor-neutral, global industry specifications and standards, supportive of a hardware-based root of trust, for interoperable trusted computing platforms. Sensors for civilian and military applications

Posted by fidest press agency su sabato, 6 marzo 2010

Veurey-Voroize, France ULIS, a leading infrared vision specialist making affordable uncooled thermal sensors for civilian and military applications, announced today that it will give a presentation on the advances in uncooled infrared detectors at the SPIE Defense, Security and Sensing symposium, April 5 – 9, in Orlando, Florida. These devices, also called microbolometers, are paving the way for high-definition IR products (VGA and XGA – video graphics arrays) and smaller, compact formats. SPIE is the international society advancing optronics and light-based research. SPIE Defense, Security and Sensing 2010 is one of the defense & security industry’s leading meetings for light-based applications, and brings together top researchers, scientists and engineers from the military, industry and academia. Programs cover the latest enabling technologies and applications in infrared, sensors, image analysis, and other systems and devices. As co-chair, Tissot will open the session on “Uncooled FPAs and Applications”. He will then go on to present “High performance uncooled amorphous silicon VGA IRFPA with 17-micron pixel-pitch”, a technical paper he co-authored with ULIS’ research and development team. The paper takes a close look at the high electro-optical performances of this IRFPA (Infrared Focal Planar Array) and the rapid performance enhancements ULIS has achieved. Tissot will discuss the NETD trade-offs with wide thermal dynamic range, as well as the high uniformity characteristics and pixel operability that the company has accomplished through its thorough knowledge of amorphous silicon technology coupled with the ROIC (readout integrated circuit) design. Tissot says this technology node paves the way for high-end products, as well as compact smaller formats like 320 x 240 or smaller.
ULIS, a subsidiary of Sofradir, specializes in the design and manufacture of innovative, high quality uncooled microbolometers for thermography, automotive, safety and military applications. It enables makers of infrared equipment to produce low weight, low power consumption and cost-effective infrared cameras in large volume. ULIS is located in Veurey-Voroize, near Grenoble, and ULIS employs 120 people. For more information: http://www.ulis-ir.com
