The double exhibition at Istituto Svizzero in Milan, showcases the works of Maude Léonard-Contant and Monia Ben Hamouda. This collaborative effort between the two artists is driven by their shared fascination with materials and language exploration. Fragrant spices, molding sand, ceramic or metal intertwine in their installations, each material carrying narratives that unfold unexpectedly over time. Language serves as their medium, delving into translation processes, ephemeral sentences, and cultural reinterpretations, inviting reflection on multilingualism and the untranslatable. The title, NYX, alludes to the Greek goddess and embodiment of the night, who was born out of chaos and who accompanied the two artists in the making of the exhibition.

La doppia mostra all’Istituto Svizzero di Milano, mette in mostra le opere di Maude Léonard-Contant e Monia Ben Hamouda . Questo sforzo di collaborazione tra i due artisti è guidato dalla passione condivisa per i materiali e l’esplorazione del linguaggio. Spezie profumate, sabbia modellata, ceramica o metallo si intrecciano nelle loro installazioni, ogni materiale porta con sé narrazioni che si sviluppano inaspettatamente nel tempo. La lingua funge da mezzo, approfondendo processi di traduzione, frasi effimere e reinterpretazioni culturali, invitando alla riflessione sul multilinguismo e sull’intraducibile. Il titolo, NYX , allude alla dea greca incarnazione della notte, nata dal caos e che ha accompagnato i due artisti nella realizzazione della mostra.
