V edizione Earth Day Cefalù

Cefalù, dal 20 al 22 aprile 2017, un evento che intende offrire iniziative utili alla sensibilizzazione nei confronti delle tematiche relative al rispetto dell’ambiente e alla promozione di stili di vita sostenibili, nonchè alla salvaguardia delle risorse naturali del Pianeta sempre più esigue, ma anche promuovere e valorizzare a inizio della bella stagione e con l’arrivo dei primi flussi turistici, il ricco patrimonio architettonico e paesaggistico di Cefalù, città ricca di Storia, Arte e Cultura e in cui la Natura è di casa… “Siamo giunti ad una quinta edizione resa possibile grazie al patrocinio del Comune di Cefalù in collaborazione con Earth Day Italia e Fare Ambiente Cefalù Madonie”. – spiega Francesca Mancinelli , ideatrice e coordinatrice dell’evento. La manifestazione è ormai diventata un’appuntamento annuale sportivo, turistico di caratura internazionale capace di richiamare centinaia di atleti ed appassionati , e non solo: anche per questa edizione non mancheranno campagne di sensibilizzazione ambientale nelle scuole primarie e secondarie, degustazioni di prodotti tipici locali e biologici e mostra mercato dell’artigianato ecosostenibile con l’EcoVillage in piazza Colombo, escursioni naturalistiche guidate nel Parco urbano della Rocca di Cefalù, le prove a cavallo per grandi e piccini (Battesimo della Sella e Cavalgiocare) in una magnifica tenuta del territorio comunale, il Castello Ortolani di Bordonaro, il volo libero in parapendio sul cielo di uno dei luoghi più incantevoli della splendida Terra di Sicilia, la liberazione di volatili sulla Rocca di Cefalù e di tartarughe Caretta caretta sul Lungomare, e poi gare di orienteering, seminari, spettacoli, meeting, la mostra fotografica “QUATTR’OCCHI SUL MONDO” di Max Laudadio presso la sala espositiva del Municipio e tanti altri appuntamenti che vogliono sottolineare l’importanza dello sport all’aria aperta in uno stile di vita ecosostenibile e in linea con la Green Economy.

Earth Day: Giornata Mondiale per la Terra

Roma sabato 22 aprile, all’Aranciera di San Sisto, Via di Valle delle Camene 11 in occasione dell’Earth Day, Giornata Mondiale per la Terra, si svolgerà la prima edizione del “Green Open Data Day 2017”, una competizione per sviluppare idee innovative e applicazioni per smartphone su temi ambientali. L’iniziativa è promossa da Roma Capitale – Assessorato alla Sostenibilità Ambientale e Assessorato Roma Semplice – che renderà disponibili i dati sull’ambiente.
L’evento gratuito è rivolto a sviluppatori, start-upper, esperti di open data e appassionati di progetti ambientali. I gruppi di lavoro si cimenteranno nella prima fase nello sviluppo delle proposte progettuali e a fine giornata una giuria di esperti selezionerà il progetto più innovativo che accederà alla seconda fase dell’iniziativa. Entro i quattro mesi successivi, infatti, si procederà alla realizzazione dell’applicativo, anche grazie al premio economico che verrà assegnato al team vincitore.
“Oggi grazie a uno smartphone, semplicemente scaricando un’App, è possibile compiere molte attività quotidiane: dal fare la spesa al pagare la sosta della propria auto o più semplicemente ascoltare musica e così via. Ma vogliamo sia possibile tutelare l’ambiente anche con nuove App che favoriscano comportamenti virtuosi e buone pratiche”, dichiara l’assessora alla Sostenibilità Ambientale Pinuccia Montanari. “L’utilizzo delle tecnologie e dei dati aperti a difesa dell’ambiente non è solo un’idea, ma una sfida che lanciamo a tutti coloro che vogliono mettere a disposizione della città le proprie competenze per una migliore, più facile ed efficace gestione del territorio”, conclude l’assessora a Roma Semplice Flavia Marzano.

I saponi di Yoghi: un modo per scoprire come produrre artigianalmente dentifricio, sapone da barba, gel per capelli e, per deliziare anche il palato oltre che la pelle, il lievito madre, fondamentale per ottenere un pane dal gusto unico.Per Corsi: una serie di attività ludiche sul riciclo di materiali con semplici strumenti, oltre a laboratori di Truccabimbi con colori ad acqua atossici e anallergici. Dimani Domani: una sfilata di abiti ecologici, indossati da bambine, introdurrà gli spettacoli. Decades of putting environmental ideology ahead of human interests

Washington – Millions of environmental activists will gather this Sunday to celebrate Earth Day, an event organizers claim is “widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement.” Earth Day comes on the back of moves by Greenpeace and the Sierra Club to destroy the U.S. coal industry, a source of energy for almost half of Americans and income for almost 100,000. “Earth Day is not some benign gathering of green groups who go to sleep for the other 364 days of the year. It is, in fact, an environmental crusade now into its fifth decade focused on revolutionizing the global economy from one of free market prosperity to one of central planning, failure, and misery. Just look at what the greens are doing targeting the coal industry. A recent report from the National Economic Research Associates (NERA) discovered that current EPA regulations alone will see electricity rates soar by 23 percent in some parts of the country. The cost of Greenpeace and the Sierra Club’s policy measures would kill the economy. As the rest of us work to make the U.S. economy more competitive and amenable to job creation, the greens will truly show where their loyalties lie on Earth Day,” said Andrew Langer, director of the Consumers Alliance for Global Prosperity. “For some reason groups like Greenpeace and the Sierra Club deem it necessary to see families already hard-up from the sluggish economy to pay yet more to heat their homes and run their small business. But it’s not just the coal industry that’s under perpetual threat. The very same groups pushing for unreasonable reductions in energy consumption have also been on the offensive against paper manufacturers and their retailers at both home and abroad. Just in the past few months, WWF and Greenpeace have coerced leading retailers from Safeway and Danone into exclusively sourcing products certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a non-transparent certification scheme that raises costs for American consumers. Again, WWF and Greenpeace have put their own ideological agenda ahead of the well-being and livelihoods of people across this entire country.”
Earth Day takes place this Sunday, April 22, a date that happens to fall on the birth of Soviet revolutionary and tyrant Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. The initiative was founded by radical greens in 1970 who sought to build on their successes after seeing the passage of the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act. The U.S. government, through the Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture, Peace Corps, and NASA is listed as a “Partner.”

The story of the United States is inextricably tied to  our vital natural resources. As we enter a new era filled with  challenges and promise, we must protect our land, wildlife,  water and air — the resources that have fueled our growth  and prosperity as a Nation and enriched our lives. Doing this  not only fulfills a sacred obligation to our children and  grandchildren, but also provides an opportunity to stimulate economic growth.  To achieve these ends, no issue deserves more immediate  attention than global warming. Scientists have already  observed alarming shifts in the natural world, including  thawing permafrost, melting glaciers, and rising sea levels. Climate change presents a serious test for humankind,  but it also provides an opportunity for great innovation and  adaptation. The United States has risen to such challenges  before, and Earth Day inspires us to transcend differences among  nations so we may lead the world in protecting our planet from  this global threat.  Americans across the country are working hard to help  limit the pollutants that cause climate change and reduce their impact on the environment, but we must do more. Individuals and organizations can plant trees, use energy efficient lightbulbs,  drive fuel efficient cars, hold clean-up drives, and teach young  people about environmental preservation. Small changes in  our daily lives can have a big impact on our environment.  Individuals can walk, bike, and use public transportation;  buy products with less packaging; and recycle and reuse paper,  plastic, glass, and aluminum more often. American families can  also save money by choosing energy efficient products, turning  lights off, unplugging appliances, and cutting back on heating  and air conditioning.  Government and business alike must also take serious and  sustained action to protect our valuable natural inheritance.  Through investments in scientific research and development,  and the vigorous pursuit of alternative and renewable energy,  we can create millions of green jobs that allow us to reduce  greenhouse gases and excel in a competitive global economy. My  Administration is committed to increasing fuel economy standards  more  and putting more Plug-In Hybrid cars on the road, weatherizing  millions of homes, and catalyzing private efforts to build a  clean energy future.
