Face the facts: having the right look helps certain leaders reach the top

Leaders in certain fields are being selected in part because their face fits the stereotype of their profession, suggests new research.
In a series of experiments designed to find out how well people could place which industry leaders worked in from their face alone, participants could successfully categorise the leaders in business, sport and the military but found politicians difficult.The study used unknown faces from the US on UK participants, and Dawn Eubanks, of Warwick Business School, argues that this simple judgement could heavily influence the actual leadership selection process by organisations.Dr Eubanks said: “Our findings imply that within business, military and sport, individuals who achieve the highest positions of leadership share common facial features that distinguish them from leaders in other domains.
“The most plausible explanation, in our view, is that leaders are being selected, at least partly, according to how they look.“The research suggests the ideal face of a leader extends beyond fitting the correct ‘type’ but needs to fit the industry or profession as well. That is, leaders may benefit not just from having competent or attractive looking faces, but also from having facial features that ‘fit’ a certain stereotype uniquely associated with their particular domain.“In fact, just having facial features that make one look like a good generic leader might not be sufficient to reach the most prestigious leadership positions in a domain; one may also need to possess facial features that stereotypically ‘fit’ the leaders in that domain.
“These findings are particularly noteworthy for those involved in leadership selection decisions. It is important to not let implicit biases get in the way and ensure that there is a rigorous selection process in place.”For the paper, The many (distinctive) faces of leadership: Inferring leadership domain from facial appearance, researchers Christopher Olivola, of Carnegie Mellon University, Dr Eubanks, of Warwick Business School, and Jeffrey Lovelace, of Pennsylvania State University, presented individuals with black and white photos of two leaders in several sequences. For example they may have been shown a politician and a CEO and then asked to select the CEO.These images only showed the cut-out face of each individual – no hair – in order to reduce cues that might give away the domain that a leader worked in.
In total, 325 US CEOs, 64 US army generals, 66 state governors elected between 1996 and 2006 and 43 American football coaches were used. Highly recognisable individuals were removed from the sample. The 614 British-based respondents were also asked to rate their confidence in their answers.Dr Eubanks added: “Despite a pessimistic outlook from participants on their estimations, we found the mean accuracy levels significantly exceeded chance for most leadership categories.“The fact that participants were able to categorise these leaders despite not recognising their faces and that these leaders were drawn from another country is noteworthy. It suggests that facial stereotypes about business, military and sport leaders may cross national and cultural borders.“Interestingly, these same participants were not able to categorise political leaders, which suggests politicians may not have unique, distinguishable facial features that reveal their leadership domain.”In order to identify if there might be specific facial characteristics representative of leaders from these industries, a new set of 929 participants were asked to rate 80 of the leaders’ faces on 15 basic dimensions, such as trustworthiness and likeability.Dr Eubanks said: “Our results indicate that one might be able to distinguish military and sports leaders from business and political leaders by evaluating how warm and attractive they look from their faces, since military and sports leaders were evaluated as looking less attractive and warm than the latter tw. “Stereotypical looking business leaders were evaluated as having particularly competent faces and military leaders were identified as having more masculine and mature faces than the other types of leaders.”

Edward Snowden, has been nominated for an Academy Award for Documentary Feature

The first MorpheusCup will take place on 19 May 2015. Over 750 European universities and grandes écoles have been invited and are registering a team. Each selected team will have to comprise 3 students. The universities will compete in 10 thematic events and will pitch a business project to the panel of judges. The prizes will be awarded in Luxembourg, on the evening of 19 May. Participants are also requested to propose a public-interest project, which will go before the judges, but will also be presented to the European Commission as well as a selection of 200 European partners. This project must be submitted in the format of a teaser slideshow, containing a maximum of 10 slides.It must be submitted by email, no later than 16 March 2015, and must relate to a simple solution to a complex problem, a disruptive digital approach to achieving a choice of one of the following 10 goals:

Saranno gli Emirati Arabi Uniti la sede della prima delle missioni promosse per il 2015 dal Gruppo Pmi Internazionale dell’Ance, presieduto da Gerardo Biancofiore. Abu Dhabi e  le tappe di un percorso programmato da lunedì 16 a giovedì 19 febbraio, finalizzato a consolidare le relazioni e incrementare le opportunità per le imprese edili italiane in uno dei paesi più ricchi del Medio Oriente. Gli Emirati Arabi Uniti hanno una crescita del prodotto interno lordo vicina al 4% e una incidenza del settore delle costruzioni sul Pil che ha raggiunto la doppia cifra ed è in ulteriore espansione: per la fine del 2015 è prevista intorno all’11.1%.
Le altre mete già fissate dal Gruppo Pmi Internazionale dell’Ance, in raccordo col Ministro plenipotenziario Massimo Rustico, sono Ungheria (26-27 marzo), Albania (23-24 aprile), Repubblica Ceca (21-22 maggio), Romania (9-10 luglio) e Slovacchia, per la quale è in definizione la data.

Meeting between Latvian EU Presidency & Church Representatives

Brussels. Churches led wide-ranging discussions with the Latvian Presidency team on religious freedom and tolerance, climate change, migration, security strategy and conflict prevention and EU neighbourhood policy. Within a week of taking on the Presidency of the European Council, the Latvian Minister of Justice, Dzintars Rasnačs, received a delegation of representatives from the Christian churches of Europe to discuss the Latvian Presidency agenda. The meeting was held on Thursday 15 January at the Ministry of Justice in Riga. Delegates underlined the importance of dialogue on matters of respect, tolerance, and peace in the midst of diversity in Europe.
The strengthening of the Eastern Partnership dynamic was also discussed in view of the Riga Summit (May 2015). “We believe that ties between the countries involved in the Eastern Partnership need to be strengthened, says Guy Liagre (CEC), “we also welcome this opportunity for cooperation between the churches in Latvia with their international counterparts.”The Latvian presidency gave oversight of measures on climate protection and the environment in the run-up to the Paris UN Climate Summit (December 2015). “We pleaded that the challenges faced by developing countries in this regard be factored in to any proposals the EU might make at the Paris Summit,” said Fr Patrick Daly (COMECE). ‘The churches in the EU have demonstrated a commitment to energy efficiency in a wide range of micro schemes implemented by local church communities and will continue to do so.”The elaboration of a new European security strategy and conflict prevention will be impacted by the growing terrorist threat on EU territory. The churches acknowledged the acute concern about internal security but pleaded for a continuing respect for rights and freedoms of EU citizens.
COMECE and CEC representatives also tackled with the Latvian Presidency the unresolved challenges of migration and asylum. Discussion focused on member states’ responsibility to share the duty of hospitality to migrants from third countries, and the churches were keen to make the Presidency sensitive to the specific needs of Christians fleeing persecution.Minister Rasnačs, while acknowledging that the Latvian EU Presidency was in his early days, gave a frank and measured – albeit tentative – assessment of the difficulties but also of the opportunities in each of these policy areas. He urged the churches to contribute to public debate on these issues. The minister closed the meeting by assuring the visitors from abroad present in the room that the government of Latvia was very committed to dialogue with church communities and that the Prime Minister consulted regularly with religious leaders in a “Spiritual Council.”

“Alternative al diserbo chimico”

E’ il tema dell’interessante convegno organizzato dal Comune di Appignano. Si punterà l’attenzione sui diserbanti, sui notevoli danni che creano all’ambiente ed alla biodiversità, nonché alla salute, su cosa può fare un’amministrazione comunale, sulla scia di quanto hanno già fatto i comuni di Malosco e Vallarsa in provincia di Trento, per evitare i danni da abuso della chimica nei campi coltivati trovando soluzioni che guardano gli interessi dei cittadini e dell’agricoltura. E ciò induce a cambiare il modo di fare agricoltura e gli stili di vita. Tali problematiche verranno affrontate nel corso del convegno previsto per il prossimo 16 gennaio, con inizio alle 21, a Villa Verdefiore di Appignano. Moderatori dell’incontro saranno Mariano Calamita, delegato all’agricoltura e Rolando Vitali, assessore all’ambiente. Dopo il saluto del sindaco Osvaldo Messi, interverrà Renata Alleva del Cnr Bologna e dell’Isde Italia, Associazione internazionale medici per l’ambiente, sull’argomento “Pesticidi nel piatto, rischi per la salute”. Sarà poi la volta di Fabio Taffetani, ordinario di Botanica sistematica del Dipartimento di Scienze agrarie, alimentari e ambientali dell’Università Politecnica delle Marche e rappresentante del Pan, Pesticide Action Network Italia, il quale illustrerà i problemi dell’agricoltura che sono di tutti. Stefano Tavoletti dell’Università Politecnica delle Marche si soffermerà, invece, su come ricostruire i sistemi sostenibili ricreando un legame tra agricoltura e zootecnia. Sul ruolo dei comuni contro l’abuso della chimica nei campi interverranno Geremia Gios, primo cittadino di Vallarsa e preside della facoltà di Economia dell’Università di Trento; Adriano Marini, sindaco di Malosco; Gianluca Fioretti dell’Associazione comuni virtuosi. Al termine il sindaco di Appignano illustrerà le iniziative e le proposte inerenti l’argomento che il comune metterà in atto nei prossimi mesi. L’evento è patrocinato da Agrinsieme, dall’Associazione comuni virtuosi, da Pesticide Action Network Italia. Tanti gli argomenti che verranno affrontati durante il convegno. “Convegno con il quale vorremmo incentivare – afferma il primo cittadino Osvaldo Messi – l’agricoltura cercando di sensibilizzare gli agricoltori ad un’attenta attività all’ambiente ed alla salute dei cittadini. Il tutto ruota attorno alla produzione dei legumi legata ad una nostra importante manifestazione.” L’iniziativa rientra nell’ambito del programma della prima edizione della manifestazione “Settimana dell’agricoltura e del territorio”, avviata lo scorso 11 gennaio, che si concluderà il prossimo 18 gennaio con la Festa di Sant’Antonio per la benedizione degli animali, con inizio alle 10.30 a borgo XX Settembre. ISDS in TTIP: the devil is in the details

What should we think about the inclusion of an Investor State Dispute Settlement mechanism (ISDS) in the planned Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership? Although 93% of bilateral investment treaties contain an ISDS mechanism, this issue has caused much concern in Europe.
Shedding light on this debate, Elvire Fabry and Giorgio Garbasso begin by taking stock of the use of ISDS in the world and in the transatlantic sphere over the past 50 years.
These mechanisms were introduced by Europeans in the 1960s, and it is Europeans who have made the most use of them. However, the rise in the total number of disputes over the past ten years has led certain States to change their strategies.The researchers present a careful analysis of the arguments in the present debate.
1. On one hand, the business world defends the benefit of such an instrument in attracting FDI, because it guarantees a safe and predictable legal framework and depoliticised dispute settlement.
2. On the other hand, its detractors consider the instrument to be illegitimate or unnecessary in the TTIP framework and esteem that it will infringe on the legislative capacity of sovereign states.
3. Finally, the negotiators seek to accommodate these different positions while keeping in mind the geostrategic interest of including an ISDS in TTIP.The devil is in the details of these various issues. We must seek out arguments that seek to develop alternatives to – or that adapt– ISDS’ model.

Bce. Unimpresa, Italia sfrutti benefici QE per ridurre le tasse

Il governo italiano deve sfruttare i benefici che deriveranno dal quantitative leasing della Banca centrale europea per ridurre le tasse sia sulle imprese sia sulle famiglie. Gli acquisiti di titoli di Stato da parte della Bce produrranno vantaggi sulle finanze pubbliche dei paesi dell’area euro, quindi anche per l’Italia, in termini di minor spesa per interessi sulle nuove emissioni obbligazionarie: si creerà quindi una sorta di tesoretto che va dirottato per abbattere la pressione fiscale. È quanto sostiene il Centro studi di Unimpresa.
Il QE dell’Eurotower, ormai imminente, potrebbe produrre una riduzione dello spread sui bot e sui btp. Tale riduzione sui differenziali di rendimento tra titoli pubblici italiani e titoli tedeschi si trasformerà dunque in una diminuzione della spesa per gli interessi da riconoscere ai sottoscrittori. Se lo spread scendesse stabilmente a 100 punti base, o addirittura sotto fino a scendere a quota 90, il vantaggio potrebbe essere stimato in 18-22 miliardi di euro l’anno.

Nuovi flussi migratori

L’Alto Commissariato delle Nazioni Unite per i Rifugiati (UNHCR) esprime forte preoccupazione per i rimpatri dal Niger alla Nigeria di centinaia di rifugiati, rimpatri avvenuti il 14 gennaio nel contesto di un’operazione congiunta organizzata dal Governatore dello Stato di Borno in Nigeria e dalle autorità in Niger. Secondo le informazioni ricevute dall’UNHCR, i rifugiati sono stati trasportati in 9 autobus a Maiduguri, la capitale dello Stato di Borno in Nigeria. Altri 11 autobus sono attualmente parcheggiati nella città di Gagamari nella regione di Diffa in Niger, in attesa di trasportare altri rifugiati in Nigeria. Considerate le condizioni di insicurezza presenti nello Stato di Borno e i recenti attacchi dei ribelli, l’UNHCR esprime preoccupazione per la natura di questi ritorni e ha chiesto alle autorità di fermare l’operazione fino a quando non vi saranno garanzie adeguate e un accordo giuridico condiviso tra Nigeria, Niger e UNHCR.
I rifugiati in fuga dal brutale conflitto nel nord-est della Nigeria continuano ad arrivare in Niger e Ciad, raccontando storie strazianti di morte e distruzione. I team dell’UNHCR hanno riferito che i rifugiati hanno raccontato l’estrema violenza che hanno subito o di cui sono stati testimoni durante gli attacchi contro la città di Baga il 3 e il 7 gennaio. Una donna, che è scappata da Baga con i suoi cinque figli e il marito, ha detto di aver visto i ribelli che correvano con le proprie auto sopra donne e bambini, che sparavano alle persone e che usavano i coltelli per tagliare la gola delle persone in strada. Si stima che a Baga ci siano stati centinaia di morti. La famiglia terrorizzata è riuscita a fuggire nottetempo, prima di raggiungere Maiduguri, da dove hanno preso un autobus per il Niger.
Complessivamente, circa 13.000 rifugiati nigeriani sono arrivati in Ciad occidentale dall’inizio di questo mese, quando sono iniziati gli attacchi a Baga. Fino a questo momento l’UNHCR e la Commissione governativa nazionale per l’accoglienza e il reinserimento di rifugiati e rimpatriati (CNARR) hanno registrato oltre 6.000 rifugiati. Ogni giorno continuano ad arrivare decine di rifugiati, molti dei quali in canoa sul Lago Ciad in direzione di aree come Ngouboua e Bagasola, circa 450 chilometri a nord-ovest della capitale ciadiana N’Djamena. Considerato anche l’ultimo afflusso, sono circa 16.000 i rifugiati nigeriani che sono arrivati in Ciad dal maggio 2013. L’UNHCR esprime preoccupazione per la possibilità che i rifugiati provenienti da Baga e dalla zona circostante abbiano scelto di fuggire attraverso il lago in Ciad, in quanto ciò potrebbe indicare che la rotta via terra verso il Niger sarebbe bloccata dai ribelli.
I team dell’UNHCR in Ciad hanno riferito di aver identificato 104 minori non accompagnati, che sono stati separati dalle loro famiglie mentre fuggivano dagli attentati di Baga. Sono stati collocati in famiglie affidatarie in attesa di ricongiungersi con la propria.
Allo stesso tempo, l’UNCHR ha avviato il trasferimento alla volta del sito di recente apertura di Dar Es Salam, nei pressi di Bagasola, di circa 2.000 rifugiati che erano rimasti bloccati sulle isole del Lago Ciad di Koulfoua e Kangalam,. Il sito, che ospita attualmente circa 1.600 rifugiati, si trova a 70 chilometri dal confine con la Nigeria e sarà in grado di ospitare fino a 15.000 persone.
Gli attacchi di Baga hanno spinto circa 572 persone a fuggire verso la regione di Diffa in Niger: alcuni di essi hanno attraversato il Ciad prima di raggiungere il Niger.
Da quando nel maggio 2013 è stato dichiarato lo stato di emergenza negli Stati di Adamawa, Borno e Yobe nel nord-est della Nigeria, si stima che 153.000 persone siano fuggite nei paesi limitrofi. Ad oggi, l’UNHCR ha registrato oltre 37.000 rifugiati nigeriani in Camerun, circa 16.000 persone sono arrivate in Ciad, e le autorità in Niger stimano che più di 100.000 persone – sia rifugiati nigeriani e che cittadini del Niger – siano arrivate dal nord-est della Nigeria devastato dalla guerra. Nel solo 2015, la violenza ha provocato l’esodo di 19.000 persone.

La Commissione Europea autorizza l’immissione in commercio del trattamento dell’Epatite cronica C di AbbVie – VIEKIRAX® Sperimentazioni cliniche di Fase 3 hanno dimostrato la capacità di VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA di curare il 95%-100% dei pazienti affetti da epatite cronica C con genotipo 1, con un tasso di fallimento virologico inferiore al 2% dei pazienti trattati 1,2 Il profilo di tollerabilità dimostra che oltre il 98% dei pazienti ha portato a termine il ciclo completo di terapia 3 Questo regime privo di interferone completamente orale è stato inoltre approvato per il trattamento dei pazienti con co-infezione HCV/HIV-1, pazienti che ricevono terapia sostitutiva con oppioidi e pazienti sottoposti a trapianto epatico 1,2
VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA sono i primi prodotti ad aver ricevuto l’approvazione come regime combinato di tre agenti antivirali ad azione diretta, ciascuno caratterizzato da un diverso meccanismo di azione, diretto contro l’epatite C nelle varie fasi della replicazione virale 1,2
AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV) ha annunciato che la Commissione Europea ha rilasciato l’autorizzazione all’immissione in commercio per il suo regime di trattamento completamente orale, privo di interferone e di breve durata costituito da VIEKIRAX® (ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir compresse) + EXVIERA® (dasabuvir compresse)1,2. Il trattamento è stato approvato per l’uso con o senza ribavirina (RBV) per i pazienti affetti da infezione da virus dell’epatite cronica C (HCV) con genotipo 1 (GT1), compresi i soggetti affetti da cirrosi epatica compensata, co-infezione da HIV -1, soggetti che ricevono terapia sostitutiva con oppioidi e soggetti che hanno ricevuto trapianto epatico1,2. In aggiunta, VIEKIRAX ha ricevuto l’approvazione per l’uso insieme a RBV nei pazienti affetti da epatite cronica C con genotipo 4 1.
“L’approvazione nell’Unione Europea concessa al trattamento di AbbVie per l’epatite C, che si aggiunge alle recenti approvazioni rilasciate negli Stati Uniti e in Canada, ci permette di offrire ai pazienti in tutta Europa un trattamento nuovo ed efficace per curare questa grave malattia,” spiega Richard Gonzalez, Presidente del Consiglio di Amministrazione e Direttore Generale di AbbVie. “Il nostro impegno è quello di lavorare al fianco di governi e sistemi sanitari nazionali dei vari paesi per permettere l’accesso a VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA al maggior numero possibile di pazienti.”
Queste approvazioni sono l’esito di un processo abbreviato di valutazione previsto dall’Agenzia Europea per i Medicinali per i nuovi farmaci che rivestono particolare interesse per la sanità pubblica. Sono circa nove milioni le persone che in Europa sono affette da epatite cronica C, patologia che rappresenta una delle principali cause di cancro epatico e trapianto epatico4 . Il genotipo 1 è la forma più prevalente di epatite C in Europa, e costituisce il 60% dei casi a livello mondiale5 . Il sottogenotipo 1b è il più prevalente in Europa (47% dei casi)6. Per quanto riguarda il genotipo 4, nonostante sia il genotipo più comune nel Medioriente, nelle regioni sub-sahariane dell’Africa ed in Egitto, si registra un aumento della sua prevalenza in diverse nazioni europee, fra cui Italia, Francia, Grecia e Spagna7. Il trattamento di AbbVie è ora approvato per l’uso in tutti i 28 stati membri dell’Unione Europea, oltre che negli Stati Uniti, Canada, Svizzera, Islanda, Liechtenstein e Norvegia.
“L’epatite C è una patologia complessa, caratterizzata da diversi genotipi e da una varietà di popolazioni di pazienti, fattori che devono essere presi in considerazione al momento di identificare il trattamento appropriato per ogni singolo paziente,” spiega il dottor Stefan Zeuzem, Professore di Medicina e Direttore del Dipartimento di Medicina I del J.W. Goethe University Hospital, Francoforte, Germania. “Nelle sperimentazioni cliniche il trattamento di AbbVie ha ottenuto elevati tassi di guarigione associati a percentuali basse di interruzione del trattamento in diverse popolazioni di pazienti, ed è per questo che il trattamento rappresenta un’importante aggiunta alle terapie che stanno cambiando le modalità di trattamento dell’epatite C .”
Il trattamento dell’epatite C è complesso, poiché il virus muta e replica in tempi rapidi. VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA sono i primi prodotti a essere stati approvati come trattamento combinato composto da tre agenti antivirali ad azione diretta, ciascuno caratterizzato da un diverso meccanismo d’azione e da profili di resistenza non sovrapposti, diretti contro l’epatite C nelle varie fasi del ciclo vitale del virus1,2 . “L’approvazione concessa a VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA nell’Unione Europea ci permette di offrire ai pazienti che vivono con l’epatite cronica C con genotipo 1 e genotipo 4, un trattamento che ha raggiunto elevate percentuali di cura” spiega il dottor Michael Severino, Executive Vice President, Research and Development e Direttore Scientifico di AbbVie. “È un risultato molto importante che testimonia il nostro impegno a promuovere la salute pubblica traducendo le nostre avanzate conoscenze scientifiche nello sviluppo di medicinali promettenti.”
L’approvazione di VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA è il risultato di un robusto programma di sviluppo clinico disegnato per studiare la sicurezza e l’efficacia del regime in più di 2.300 pazienti arruolati in 25 paesi1,2.
Il programma è stato costituito da 6 studi chiave di Fase 3, che hanno dimostrato la capacità di VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA di curare il 95%-100% dei pazienti affetti da epatite cronica C con infezione da HCV di genotipo 1, che hanno ricevuto il regime raccomandato, riscontrando il fallimento virologico in una percentuale di pazienti inferiore al 2%1,2. Inoltre, il ciclo completo di terapia è stato portato a termine da più del 98% dei pazienti (n=2.011/2.053) arruolati nelle sperimentazioni cliniche3. Le reazioni avverse più comuni (>20%) associate al trattamento con VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA in associazione a RBV sono state stanchezza e nausea1,2 .
L’approvazione di VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA si è basata anche sui risultati degli studi clinici di Fase 2, in pazienti con infezione cronica da HCV di genotipo 1, che hanno dimostrato come VIEKIRAX + EXVIERA curi il 97% (n=33/34) dei pazienti sottoposti a trapianto epatico, il 92% (n=58/63) dei pazienti con co-infezione da HIV-1 e il 97% (n=37/38) dei pazienti che ricevono terapia sostitutiva con oppioidi 1,2. I pazienti che raggiungono una risposta virologica sostenuta (SVR12) sono considerati curati dall’epatite C.
L’approvazione di VIEKIRAX per il trattamento dei pazienti affetti da epatite cronica C con genotipo 4 si è basata su uno studio di Fase 2 in cui la risposta SVR12 è stata ottenuta nel 100% dei pazienti trattati con VIEKIRAX in associazione a RBV1.

Promuovere la cultura della legalità

Della trasparenza e dell’etica pubblica e favorire la diffusione delle ‘buone pratiche’ nelle amministrazioni che lavorano sui territori. È l’obiettivo del Protocollo d’Intesa firmato oggi tra il ministro per gli Affari regionali e le autonomie Maria Carmela Lanzetta e l’Associazione “Avviso Pubblico”, una rete nata nel 1996 con l’intento di collegare ed organizzare gli amministratori impegnati a favore della legalità democratica nella politica, nella P.A. e sul territorio.L’intesa prevede l’impegno a realizzare iniziative volte a contrastare fenomeni di infiltrazione criminale nelle Istituzioni, anche mediante eventuali proposte di modifica del quadro normativo e regolamentare e intende promuovere l’adozione di misure in grado di assicurare l’utilizzo efficace e funzionale, rispetto agli interessi della collettività, dei beni confiscati alla criminalità organizzata.“Legalità e trasparenza sono principi imprescindibili per una buona amministrazione. Come purtroppo dimostrano le cronache recenti, la lotta contro la corruzione e contro le infiltrazioni della criminalità organizzata nel nostro Paese va combattuta con forza e determinazione – ha osservato il Ministro Lanzetta – Con la firma di oggi vogliamo fare un passo avanti nella promozione della cultura della legalità nelle amministrazioni centrali e sul territorio. Quella con Avviso Pubblico sarà una collaborazione preziosa, dalla quale nasceranno iniziative, anche normative, per diffondere e difendere l’etica pubblica e le ‘buone pratiche’ amministrative”.“Ringrazio, innanzitutto, il Ministro Lanzetta per la fiducia riposta nei confronti di Avviso Pubblico. Da assessore di Roma Capitale ho fortemente voluto che questa Associazione avesse una sede nel cuore degli uffici della nostra amministrazione. Da oggi, grazie a questo Protocollo potremo rendere questa attività ancora più efficace. E’ una buona giornata per la buona politica”.
Nel dettaglio, il Protocollo, che istituisce anche un Tavolo di lavoro permanente, punta a promuovere studi e proposte comuni sul tema della prevenzione dei fenomeni di corruzione e di infiltrazione criminale nelle istituzioni, iniziative di sensibilizzazione per diffondere la cultura della legalità; a creare reti a livello nazionale ed europeo per favorire la diffusione delle buone pratiche improntate al principio di massima trasparenza presso enti locali, regioni e altri soggetti pubblici territoriali erogatori di servizi ai cittadini; a definire, d’intesa con le associazioni rappresentative, indicazioni e linee guida per lo svolgimento sistematico di attività per la prevenzione della corruzione da parte degli enti locali, anche dopo l’eventuale scioglimento dei relativi organi consiliari.
